But taking into consideration it may not be his fault, perhaps have another transfer window in the middle of the season (much like jan transfer window)

means if a player gets kicked out (whether unfairly or not) in the first week then they dont have to wait a whole season

That implies to me he chose to leave therefore should have to abide by the rules that he cant play for another clan till the next season!

Might not have been aware he wouldn't be able to play for someone else

but under current rules he cant play or unbeatables this season

well its unfair on unbeatable to lose out on the points theyv'e already gained from the match...as he was playin the clan league runner and nothing was said

I have been very busy with two jobs so havent seen everything that has happened so theres bound to be one thing that slips the net once in a while

Happened to me, a league runner put the wrong fixtures out, i played the game and won - then fixtures got changed i had to play someone else and lost

thats the common practice - unbeatables should've seen that he had just been released (as the unbeatables post was only a few posts below the cobras)

That league runner wasn't the one who sorts out team changes - and she wasn't likely to have known about it

He didn't choose to leave, I removed him from the clan, I knew has was intending to leave as he felt uncomfortable in the clan

Including league staff (me) I guess? lol

I accepted that signing so clearly can't go back on that now - my mistake, the player shouldn't suffer from that as long as we have the power to avoid it.

I'd like to advocate easing up a bit on that rule in general too... With the 2 month rule in place, as well as 1 fixture quarantine, there is really no problem with allowing player transfer mid-season as long as the captain of the clan the player is leaving clearly posts the fact that the player is released in team changes thread... After which point he returns to free agent status and can be signed by other clans right away.

Anyone else see any real problems with that that I might have missed?

So in theory with that rule, I could play all season for Nutters, then want to leave and end the season with FPB or someone?

The reason this rule was brought in was to stop players chopping and changing every week. Which I believe will just start again.

We've had this issue before when rules have changed mid season, and I believe it's a mistake to changing rules mid season again.

You'd have to be in agreement with Steph and allow her to let you leave

yes jan i have to agree that the whole default thing is a mine-field to sort out and i don't envy those that have to deal with these matches.

but with what seemed like a much better season where there were a lot less defaults does it actually need fixed?

a couple of ideas for ya here.....may be crap, i dunno but am sure someone will have a say on them!!!

1. would the chance of a points/bonus system for a clan/clans that play all their matches promote lack of defaults?
though as i write this the thought of somebody not playing a match intentionally, proving detrimental to a clan doing well is also a possibility (lol arguing with myself now!)

2. where a default occurs no matter who or why the match aint been played, a penalty against clan is implemented.

no problem with the change maybe have a maximum number of 2 clans the player can play for in a season. If the player is released by 2 clans he must be causing problems

All we need, from a staff perspective, is for the captain to confirm that the clan he/she is leaving is ok with that fact and don't want to hold on to that player.

Whether this happens because the player asked to be released or because he was forced out for any reason, is totally irrelevant.

The intention of the rules here is to prevent players from leaving clans during season, as long as that clan wants that player to stay.

As long as that intention is served (which it is), I see no problem with allowing transfers during season.

And i think it unfair that some people have to re-play games and then others dont in a similar circumstance - especially when the replay alters the overall outcome of the match from one team winning to the other

IMO if the fixtures have the incorrect players and the match gets played you have to give out the same decision both times

still nothing stopping players saying i dont want to play for this clan and striking against the clan until they release them everytime

We don't necessarily want to do that either, the discussion is just in general how we like the rules to be. When that change happens, if at all, is another issue entirely.

As for why that rule is there, you are not entirely right. It is there to protect clans from seeing their players run off to other clans without their consent. Nothing more.

Please lets stick to one topic at a time, since the one you are bringing up has no relevance and nothing in common with the current topic of discussion.

What you need to remember is that you were not really the main victim in that situation - the entire team who had wrong fixtures put up was. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few etc etc.

1: Main trouble with this line of thought is that it is not just up to yourself whether or not your game gets played (as you pointed out yourself too). If implemented, a bonus for game completion would need to be a) large enough to make any sort of difference at all, and b) small enough to avoid people getting tempted to exploit it adversely.
