Ok a situation has arisen with me an nutters
stokies_back is an ineligible player so cannot be registered to a clan under rule
1.12 Player account requirements
All players entering the league must have accounts at least 2 months old. This is to discourage constant name changes, deactivations/reactivations and the like. In short, if you want to play in the league, be stable and don't do something as foolish as deactivating your account.
Which he falls into this area
He was with fpb but technically wasnt cause he a/ cant play an b/ cant be added to team on league web till his eligible date.
So hes decided to move clans which i have had checked an hes well within his rights to do right up untill the 18.08.2010 once hes named to a clan on that date he then cannot move until the transfer window next time round
Anyone think ive broken a rule?
Ive been told its ok all i cant do is let him play in the pre season friendlys.

Sounds correct to me.
I may have given a wrong picture to master_p00l on this earlier though, since I wasn't at that time aware stokie not meeting the 2 month rule (or didn't come to mind during that discussion anyways)
If he had been correctly tied to the clan he could not signed for another team unless released by his captain, since the transfer window had long closed.
That's irrelevant since he has not yet been officially part of ANY team yet.

I'm adding a few fixtures, a few cup rounds etc so people can test inputting scores if they like... Should also give a better idea of what the tables will look like etc
These results are pure test data so feel free to play around with the results as much as you like

just a question about subs if the draw has be done the only time subs should be used
is when 2 players have a time zone problem
our when a player of a clan as dont be on for a few days
other then that subs should not come into place
if the league dose the draw it should stand
that only 2 reason a player should be change
now all teams as 14 players there should be no problem this rule should be made clear to everybody

also this could be used by any captain as tactical
as they could not put there better players in starting line up
wait for fixtures then sub them in against so called weaker players for maximum points not a fair way

Not really,
If one player doesn't want to play, then they should be allowed to be subbed out
If one clan uses a sub, then another clan can always react with their own sub or not, its one less sub that they have
Theres nothing wrong with tactical subbing in really
To not be happy with a sub because you get a better opponent is laughable, you wouldn't argue at all if a lesser opponent got subbed in or if that better opponent was who you were playing anyway
Its like saying in football, you can only sub in for injuries or after red or yellow cards
Leave it as it is, its perfectly fine

there is no point in doing the draw in your eyes then people doing tactical moves it should not be done the whole point is you put your strongest players in from the start

not every team throws out the toughest team against another clan, most give others players a chance to and some keep there good players that are reliable as subs just incase a sub is needed.
16:55 Sat 31 Jul 10 (BST) [Link]
That would be YOUR way of thinking
If you put your strongest players in to start that means you are always going to put weaker players in, so every sub you do lessens your chances of winning
if you leave some of the stronger players out then if one player has an unexpected issue then you can sub in a player who is just as good if not better

Understand exactly what no_talking is trying to say.
Also, when two players in the squad are swapped for seemingly no reason as soon as the fixtures are released.
Maybe it should be against the rules.
And zante, when substitutes were first introduced into football, they were for injuries only.

We decided a couple seasons back that subs should not be subject to approval by ANYONE. In short, any clan is free to sub for whatever reason they choose, as long as staying within the max subs allowed and no player playing twice in same match etc.
This allows teams to make "tactical" subs if they want to - we are very well aware of that - and basically have chosen a ruleset that allows it.
Why? Because there is another concern regarding rules that weights heavier: Never make a rule you cannot reasonably enforce.
Ever since I joined in running the leagues, most of all on the rules side of things, I've striven to build a set of rules that CAN be enforced, with a good level of integrity. That means making rules which enforcement builds on solid facts rather than opinions or guesswork.
Any rule what so ever to reduce the allowed reasons of a sub is prone to that problem: Who are we to judge how legitimate any given substitution is? On what info do we base any ruling on any such case?

I agree with both sides on this, I like the way the subs rules work APART from this "swap of fixtures" idea that has started to creep in. Once the fixtures have been made then surely the only alteration that should be made is a sub, not swapping of fixtures, I understand the main idea of "making games easier to be played" however surely with the larger squad numbers then just the idea of a sub will be suitable enough. As it is in essence the use of 2 subs, but using players already in the fixture which would not normally be allowed.
I make a suggestion that with these larger clans we now just sub players out when there is a time zone issue as it will prevent any arguments about occasions of match fixing.

I agree the "swap two players" rule is now pretty much obsolete and could easily be done within the other rules for "regular" subs....
In that case, and with the larger clan sizes in mind, we probably ought to consider increasing the max subs per fixture by one or two though...
Then again, in the end of the day this is all about striking a balance between two important goals: Seeing all games getting played (as flexible subbing rules as possible), and in a fair manner (discouraging teams from tactical subs)
Not sure both can be achieved to 100% satisfaction at the same time - they are opposite sides to the same coin and it's gotta land on one side or the other
