How about to stop players simply "picking" their opponents, how about you can't see the users until the game has started? Makes it a bit more of a luck game if you don't know who you are going to play.

I wish I could post that many quotes in one

I understand that the focus is on multiplayer games, I guessed from the site name lol......I would love to see all the games on there but maybe that is something you would look at over time if the demand was there?

The time scales depend on exactly what will go into the game and feedback received will help define this!

Stakes will be variable, they're currently all set at £1.00 just for the sake of the fun cash leaderboard.

All sounds good to me, feedback wise on a personal note from me would be-

The overall idea is brilliant, I would love it if it involved all the game types we can play on funky, including snooker, but I appreciate that would take a lot of time and server space etc. Maybe one day if the idea proves popular....

Much as I asked about having no limit, having thought about it since, I would say a limit was a very good idea. Id hate to be drunk, challenged to a game for a weeks wages, agree because I was drunk and wake up skint

I'm not sure if you plan on it already, but player profiles over there would be good as well, similarly to here with win %s etc. I see the argument for not having them because of people finding it hard to get a game but as Niall says some people could lose money all day long......

Thats all the feedback I have for now, thanks for answering my queries.....keep up the good work.

Oh and doubles for cash would be ace

Hence the reason it's an entirely separate site, on which you dont have to play for money - as there is a play money option.

On a 'business' side of things, I whole-heartedly agree with it - after all "a mans got to make his bread"!

Also, adds a little more fun to things IMO. Those with 'gambling issues' should seek professional help, as it really isn't the sites that provide the gambling options' fault.

When it opens, let us all gamble responsibly! (and take all of spinners money )

I wouldn't say it's an ENTIRELY separate site - this thread wouldn't be here if it was entirely separate, nor would we know anything about it ...the same people are going to be playing there as they are here, just a whole lot less. I have nothing against nick for doing this...I just don't see it being a wholly meaningful venture given that there will be very few people playing it. I admire him for putting it up for these very few mind

You never know though, it could go the opposite and reach a wider audience of players, due to being able to gamble

Why are you so sure there are so few people who will be playing it?

Because this is completely different to your "everyday" gambling - this is not about chance, it's about a skill...and I can't imagine there's going to be a wealth of people who are willing to risk their own money knowing they are going to lose lol. When it's the same few people winning over and over, those who are constantly losing will lose interest, and there will be left a small number of people who will presumably continue playing each other. Unless there are some sorta rank-related restrictions on who plays who, it's pointless for the vast majority of people to play.

sorry niall but poker is a game of skill and that does not deter weaker players from gambling, weaker players tend to stay in smaller $tables and better players obviously play for higher stakes plus also i would like to mention how polished the table looks nice work thanks

There's far more luck involved in poker than pool, I know this first hand (excuse the pun), so such a comparison is not feasible in my opinion.

In a short-term perspective, yes. No discussion there.

Over time though, they are both, equally much, a matter of skill.

(simple mathematic statistics really, even if considering a game where 99.99% is luck and 0.01% is skill, over a large enough number of samples, the luck evens out and all that's left to make the difference is the skill)

I'm sorry, but there's VERY little comparison with both the popularity and skill levels of online poker and a pool site

Would be great if it wasn't killer, killer is probably the worst game, its based on nothing but potting and alot of people arent gonna bet on potting alone.

I for one, rely on strategy, control and tactics. Killer requires none of them, just requires you to not miss. Make 8 ball UK available for gambling and i'd LOVE to play this site more :)

Killer is (as the name implies) every bit as much about making your opponents miss as it is about your own potting. Yes, potting yourself is paramount, but that alone will never get you to the top.

The less opponents remaining, the more important the aspect of making your opponents miss (or at least force them to take the shots you want them to take) becomes.

There is in fact no other game type that is more dependent on tactics than killer here on FP, not even 8 ball.

Everything you said about the aspects of killer is correct but every game on here is just as equally dependent on the tactics of the game. Arguably some even more so on the basis that killer is a multi opportunity game (3 lives and the chance for more with the black) whereas in the others one tactical error means defeat.

Killer is the ideal game for stakes games though with the multiple buy ins increasing your returns.

If this was to take off I would imagine the oportunity to play all game types as 'cash games' (winner takes all with the host taking a small cut) would be the way forward.

while i agree wholeheartedly with you about the points you have made there is still skill in gambling whether it is horse-racing, football, poker etc. however each carries their own ratio of skill versus luck. the more control you have over the outcome the more the skill side increases and the luck decreases. to bet on football you have no control over the 22 players and any result could happen (theoretically), if you are a good poker player you have a better chance of winning the pot with a weak hand than a bad poker player.

the more skillful you are at pool the more chance you have of winning.

i think killerpool will end up being played by the very highly ranked players on both snooker and pool and maybe a few others who are brave enough to challenge them.

This has already been mentioned above, and it is a good point. Killer pool evens the playing field out compared to regular pool though, as tactical play between players can pick on the best players, and more luck occurs with the spread of the balls and player order. The longer the game goes on the less luck is involved, so lowering the number of lives can increase the luck element.

There is a decent market for online gambling in pool, just because you're not interested doesn't mean others aren't.

I agree, with all of that especially the bitwhere you say tactical play between players can pick on the best, i chose that bit to point out as i know it happens on here now and again and i think its a great tactic, just a shame others see it as cheating.

I for one would love to see Tournaments for money.
