Well when you get to 16+ you actually begin to care about your education.

Im not being sarcastic everyones the same first couple of years. But ive got a lot of stress on me at the moment im doing 3 A levels and need them all to apply for my chosen university. This is not helped by the fact that i cant have access to resources to study and revise.

I'm 16, and in my 2nd final year. I'm doing 5 highers, so I'm stressed out as well, along with the fact I have prelims in 2 weeks. It's a tough time for both of us I'd imagine, with studying and all that. I'd gladly take a day off to get away from it all.

Not meant to sound like an offensive/abusive post, it's too difficult to type things and not make them sound as bad as they look so I'll add a good luck for yah

I apologise 1_eye i will try to make more time for this computer game discussing it with you.

Orrr they fancy a day off themselves

I wouldnt treat it as laziness when all you have to do is type.

Anyway the country is lazy its a fact we are the most laziest country in europe. Measured by our choice of learning 2nd languages, school hours, average work hours.

As for the countries you mentioned in your first post, that weather is what they are use to and it is not as dangerous as the wheather this country currently has. If you think logically, you will realise that when it snows there, it snows heavily and doesn't turn into black ice, and I dowt they rarely get drifts and blizzards. It's in-consistent over here if you like. And if they do get blizards and real bad ice etc... I don't think they get on with things normally

Went to sweden only for a week, the ice there is far worse than i've seen here and they do get on with things, instead of walking they skate to work or school. Its not a problem they cope with it, and yes blizzards are probably more common in the evening but as i say i was only there for a week

Alex, people in Britain work more hours than any other country in Europe, fact.

You can't call us the laziest country in Europe because people are taking into consideration health and safety of others.

LMAOOOOO!

Now you really are talking nonsense. Go research your fact before you try pass anything of as fact - honestly some people.....................

I think you should try and make more time for your posts, they might hold some credability if you did so. By taking everyone's opinion's in to account you understand things better mate.

Good luck with your exams.

It's likely that they have been doing that since a young age, because the snow is consitant over there, so it's part of their culture.

If you think I'm going to learn to skate just for snow/ice that comes around on average every couple of years, your nuts. If we get this weather nearly everyday, then I'm sure I'll contemplate it

We also get the least amount of bank holidays than anywhere else in Europe! Fact.

Lets call these snow days a catch up on missed bank holidays

Going back to when i said about working hours this is only one of the criteria used this probably gave us a boost but the others were at considerably low levels which would of knocked us down

We've always known Uni students are lazy - doesn't mean the rest of us are does it?

Looking like no school again! Snow has fallen quite bad again in the Midlands. I'm betting my college will be closed, although they won't make their minds up till about 11:45am when everyone is there and waiting.......... not that I'm bitter or anything!

I for one aint complaining today that my college is closed, was meant to do a presentation to a bank manager

It's funny listening to the local radio station, the guy is reading out all the closed schools, when it would be easier to read out the shcools that are open !

Get to make another snowman

Nobody mentioned...well i didnt, 'the good old days'

I didn't knock down anyone's opinion, merely stated my own.

Calling it Codswallop is, in my opinion, knocking it down, just as in your opinion i was refering to 'the good old days'

but when i was a lad (and thats a long time after the war lol) we had heavier snow fall and we all plodded on to school regardless...it was part of the fun....so its a modern day problem, health and safety is far too prominent in our lives, heck they are saying kids shouldnt walk to school in case they slipped???

The pavements are in far worse condition when theres no snow.....its too much of a nanny state these days......how on earth did we cope before the Health and Safety reared its ugly head into our day to day life and our choices.

I took this as someone talking about the good old days............

No.......you took it all wrong.......there was no 'good old days' reference from me, thats merely how you perceived it, so allow me to rectify your perception. The mention on the pavements was a passing?? well that was just adding a passing comment, take it as part of the discussion iof you wish, but it was merely a passing comment

lets just agree too disagree

Lets just remember.,.........things can easily be taken out of context on forums as the typed word is not as expressive as the spoken word married with facial expressions.........emoticons help, but only too a degree.

Now....which lazy begger has decided to stay home because of the snow? Not i!! i looked like a mobile snow blizzard on the push iron this morning lol
