seeing as i cant be bothered to write i will quote one and explain its meaning.
"if ever i had to give my children some advice, it would be....never live in a culdee sac"
the author isnt saying dont live in an actuall culdee sac....its a metaphore.....culdee sacs are dead ends....
the peom is talking about life.....so the advice he's giving his children is dont live in a dead end.. make something of ur life.,. never be cought off guard.

close obviously lol..............the yo-yo is a toy......it has its ups and downs that we most of the time are in control of....it has its tricks we can enjoy and that can go badly wrong. sometimes we loose control of the ups and downs and the tricks as well.
