Well there's plenty of time for Rangers to mess it up. Look at what happened last year with Celtic.

Bit of a shame to see Hibs and Dundee fall behind a bit, it always makes it more exciting when there's teams outside the old firm snapping at the heels!

Bit of a joke to see Hibs and Dundee United to fall behind.

Never seen two worse Old Firm teams, they're awful. How can't the third and fourth of the land keep in touch with them, I don't understand. And they wanted to go to Premiership, League One is more their standard (and i don't mean top of League One).

Whoever wins the SPL this year will be dancing and celebrating, but if their current squad was in it in any of the last ten years they'd not have a hope!

On that note, Dunfermline have been (wrongly, and i'm a pars fan) re-inducted into the Scottish Cup with just a 30k fine and a replay away at Stenhousemuir.

We'll struggle passed Stenny, and make the fine up from revenue of playing Celtic next round with a bit to spare, assuming telly revenue tbh. SFA have bottled it.....again.

Agree with you mate but we all know the SFA are a joke.

Just accept the good fortune and get a good pay day against Celtic.

Well...they put on a suspended player...

To be honest, 1 player wouldn't have made a difference to that scoreline. SFA are like the 'british' government, don't have a clue what they're doing.

Just a case of tanking them on their own ground now.

The SFA showed us another example of why they are so inept, allowing the Pars back into the competition.

The 30K fine is nothing, that'll be made up when they play Celtic (unless Stenny pull off a shock).

That being said I thought the original decision of suspending them was very harsh. Other clubs have broken rules and only been fined.

As for the cup Ego, looks like both our sides got the horror ends of the draw

At least the Saints have a semi to look forward to.

Through, but just.

On a slightly worrying note, if reports are to be believed then a incorrect/incomplete team sheet was submitted prior to the match!! Inept football i can live with as a Dunfermline supporter (actually expect it as standard) but inept admin, come on!!! Not happy

It has to be said, the staff at Dunfermline are a bunch of idiots

Apparently Stenny fielded a player who wasn't registered (Scott Gair, ex St Mirren youth) when the first tie took place. Seems to be a bit of confusion but from what I've heard they are innocent.

Just for the hell of it, I hope there is another replay

Shame, i would've liked to have seen Dundee United win tonight, would've gave Celtic something to play for this season!

Shambolic and somewhat unlucky at Parkhead tonight, with a stoppage time goal from the Hibees youngster.

Rangers weren't so hot either, narrowing a 2-0 score at St.Mirren.

Scottish fitba can only get more interesting!

Cup semi next week. Can't wait for it!

All this excitement, we'll probably get pumped

It is quite hilarious seeing Celtic doing so badly after hounding Gordon Strachan out of the club. But what we must remember is, it's obviously Strachan's fault Celtic can't keep up with their brothers. Saint Mowbray is doing a fine job.

Anyway, away to Hibs on Saturday, tough game for the Buddies.

Lost 2-1 away to Hibernian. Last minute goal to win it, really gutting

Thought we played well, Hibs were poor.

Anyway, next up, the cup semi! Biggest game of the season for us! Really looking forward to it.

SAINTS ARE IN THE FINAL!!!

Can't believe it. Last night was amazing, great atmosphere, and we were just sublime. Right from the start we went for it, outplayed Hearts and duly deserved the win. And the winning goal from Billy Mehmet was just superb, we went totally mental when it hit the net. Every player was brilliant and I'm proud of them all. Well done to Gus and Andy for changing the formation, great move.

That's history made, we've only made the one League cup final away back in the 50s, and lost it, so either way, this team will be the best LC team we've ever had. Great that we started in the First Round as well.

Can't wait for the final! Only downside is we have to play Rangers, when half their fans don't care about the League Cup. Doesn't help that we have them in the Scottish Cup, and we had them in the SC last year, meaning THREE cups in a row against them

Still, C'mon ye Saints!!!!

As a Rangers Fan, I must say that it would not upset me in the slightest to see St Mirren win the league cup.

I am sick and tired of comments that Rangers and Celtic are always winning everything and for a team like St Mirren to win this would probably be once in a lifetime.

Obviously I will be supporting Rangers on the day - but would a St Mirren win be that bad - not really, since we have the league already wrapped up

Agreed, though i'd be a bit gutted with not getting the treble, i'd like to see the saints get their day.

Good luck for next month, and remember...

What people would that be? The happy people? The sad people? The nice people? The ugly dirty people?

Anyway, Scottish Cup Last 16 tomorrow against, surprise surprise, Rangers. Not confident at all, but I'd like to see us win at least one game against them in the cup after last years semi final defeat. Three cup defeats in a row to the same team would be depressing.

Worst thing about this (apart from the fact we could be put out) is that Rangers could end our 100% Cup win record at our new ground

The happy people of course!

Watching the game now, decent game! Rangers aren't getting too much luck.

Another excellent performance from the Buddies today. The past two games against Hearts and Rangers were miles better than the performances in January. We took the game to Rangers, and stuck with the 3-5-2, which nearly paid off. Again, not a single player put a foot wrong, and I'm proud of them all.

However, that was our chance of making the Quarter Finals. Hamilton did the same in the last round, taking a 3-2 lead but threw it away. We were so close at times, I think if Bougherra was still out we'd have taken the win. Going to Ibrox will be a real challenge and Rangers should be able to see us off. Also, that's the end of our 100% win record at our new home

On the other hand, we still have an unbeaten home cup record, which we can brag about for another few months assuming we lose at Ibrox. The funniest thing about our record is that we've played Celtic, Rangers, Motherwell twice, and Alloa Athletic, and Alloa are the only away team to have scored

Ah well, still in the cup for now, if you told me at the beginning of the week we would still be in BOTH Cups I'd have easily taken it.

Come on ye Saints!
