Quarter Finals

Celtic vs Hearts
Dundee vs Rangers
St Johnstone vs Dundee United
St Mirren vs Motherwell

Good draw. Out of the remaining teams, Motherwell was always going to be our best chance of making the semis. Nice to get a home game after playing the first three rounds away, and with us having a 100% Cup win record at our new ground.

St Mirren 0-2 Celtic a.k.a. Cheats

Celtic are a terrible club with horrible fans and a dirty cheating team. That is all.

st mirren 0-2 celtic

very easy win today, st mirren never looked like scoring!

thought Mccourt played well, although the st mirren defence and midfield looked like an under 11s school boy team. very poor defending.

celtic were not at thier best however they did not have to be, could have played for another 3 hours and st mirren still would not have scored!

think if the bottom half of the league was not as poor as it is then st mirren will struggle, but they will probably stay up because of poor sides like falkirk and hamilton.

After seeing the highlights last night, it's obvious once again Celtic were given a goal that should have been disallowed.

In our past six meetings, Celtic have been given wrong decisions in all of them. This involves diving, red cards for Saints, escaped red cards for Celtic, and offside goals. It's just typical, they get everything from the referees.

Sadly we're used to it by now.

Not only Rangers fans can see it now, thankfully everyone else does!

Rangers for the league, despite the last few results

Saints fans have seen it for ages.

As much as I despise Rangers, they deserved the league last year. Celtic were handed a good 10 points from referees, it would have been very harsh on Rangers who actually earned most of their points.

As it looks like it's the same again this season with Celtic cheating, if it has to be an Old Firm side who wins it, then I'd rather see it being Rangers. My first choice would obviously be St Mirren, followed by anyone outside the OF. I'd love to see Hibs or Dundee United come first instead for once if Hearts hadn't got rid of George Burley, who knows what could have happened...damn you Romanov

Agree with you yoda. Problem with the SPL is that it's the same old two horse race every year. Would really love to see anyone outside the OF (except Aberdeen) win it for a change. It's never going to happen though.

I totally agree with you. In my 17 years of living, only two teams have won the SPL, which tells you all you need to know. No variation at all, it's really depressing to look at.

All we want is a change. I'd love to see any other SPL win the league, but sadly the Old Firm have too much money, and in Celtic's case, the referees. I had high hopes when George Burley took over at Hearts and won their first 8 games of the season, before getting sacked by Mad Vlad. I fear that's the closest anyone will get over the next few years.

It's sad that not even one other team can get the resources to challenge the Old Firm. Whenever a team brings through a youth player, he goes to the Old Firm (or England), and half the time doesn't even get a game. Hibernian in particular would surely be right up their if they hadn't lost so many players, guys like Thomson, Brown, Riordan (until he came back), O'Conner, Caldwell. Dundee United have been hurt as well with Mark Wilson, Barry Robson, Willo Flood and Lukasz Zaluska all leaving for Celtic. Zaluska and Flood don't even get games, and Robson isn't a regular. Even Kilmarnock have been affected badly by losing good strikers in Kris Boyd and Steven Naismith. And not forgetting Motherwell with Scott McDonald.

It's very annoying. If the Old Firm didn't buy players they wouldn't use, other teams would be stronger. Sadly, the players are bought and wasted away.

Yeah Hearts were on a great run when that daft eejit fired Burley. The league would be much more exciting and competitive if the OF got their wish and moved to England, where they have wanted to play for some time now. Let's see how they would cope down there, winning nothing

I'd love it if they moved down to England. I'd feel sorry for the English having to put up with them, but it would be great to see the Old Firm not get their refereeing decisions, and cry about a lack of money, which they ignore when it comes to the rest of the SPL.

Old Firm fans will say the SPL would become part time etc, but it isn't as if they are taking our players and money with them. I don't see how our quality would decrease. Because the Old Firm move, are English teams suddenly going to go for guys like Mehmet and Craigan? Players like Forbes and McGinn are probably being looked at anyway, but the OF moving wouldn't mean we'd bring through less quality or bring in good players.

Sceptical Dave.

Scottish football is rubbish, with the the Old Firm. What happens if they were to leave? My suggestion would be that there would initially be a major decrease in interest, half maybe more. And would result in very little if any TV deals being brought in. Increased level of support to the top 3 or 4 teams left in the country would provide some but little income to these clubs, not enough for the clubs to attract a better quality of player due to the lure of our next door neighbours. Scottish football either spirals to a death or we get a new Old Firm with the few clubs that challenge immediately after the Old Firm part.

It's painful but Scottish needs the Old Firm. We have to just accept that we are a tiny tiny nation who arent helped by having the best league in the world on our doorstep for various reason. We no longer look to our own, we take poor foreigners who see the Scottish League as a stepping stone to England and we loan in English players rather than looking to our reserve squads.

Scottish football is murder and wont be on the up, get used to it.

It's been the same for years, i do feel for the non old firm fans as they basically never have a shout for the title. I want to see a day in my life where a team other than Rangers or Celtic win the title.

And the day that happens, i won't be gutted at all.

Just shows how bad it has become that an Old Firm fan would like to see another side win the title instead of Celtic or Rangers.

Saints play Hearts on Saturday, so it's guaranteed to be a poor game when it comes to trying to score. Saints haven't been scoring much since John Sutton left, and Hearts main option up front is the hilarious Christian Nade.

Cue Nade scoring against us now.

St Mirren 2-1 Hearts

A good win for us.

Hearts scored from a corner after 31 mins. From kick off, Lee Mair made a poor pass, and then failed to pass the ball back to our keeper. Suso should have made it 2-0 after taking it by Gallacher who had slipped because of the poor pass, but Suso was too hesitant and when he finally did shoot, Gallacher had got back and made an outstanding save.

Saints equalized after Andy Dorman failed to tap the ball into an empty net. The ball fell to Steven Thomson, who scored.

The winner was fantastic. Craig Dargo volleyed it from 18 yards out right into the top corner. Beautiful goal.

7th in the league

Just how good was Craig Dargo's goal? Contender for goal of the season, just outstanding
