I do feel for the saints, least they get to play at hampden either way.

It's the first time they have got to the semi's since....1987??

Your team vs my team yoda

Wish saints luck next month at hampden.

Yup, 1987. First time we've been in a major semi since I've been alive

I am really looking forward to it, never been to Hampden, and a good amount of Saints fans should be going, as our true gloryhunters will come out of their shells, with comments like "I've been a lifelong fan" etc. Still, we should hopefully have a decent crowd

Worried about the match though. I never thought I'd see us beat an Old Firm side, never mind twice this season! I think asking for a 3rd is extreme, but we've proved we can do it. It's our best squad since 1987, and our best chance of a major trophy and European qualification.

We'll need to play like we did against Celtic if we have a chance to take it - defend well, attack well, and go with a 4-4-2/3-5-2. I'd love to win this, but I don't think we will. Still - WE ARE GOING TO HAMPDEN!

Do fans sing that if they draw at home to Queen's Park in the Cup?

I disagree.

Cant belive we got put out by St.Mirren. But to be fair when they scored they didnt just sit back and defend they kept trying for a another goal.

Is the CIS cup final this weekend? C'mon the Hoops! :D

Glad we won the CIS cup yesterday. It is a rubbish cup but it helps avoid a Rangers treble which is good.

Thought it was a good game both teams looked up for it. Was abit worried at the start when I found out we were playing 1 up front but think thoses tactics worked well.

Felt sorry for Kirk Broadfoot at the end think the referee could of maybe just gave him a yellow i think the match was already won there was maybe 2 mins left.

The attitude I despise from Old Firm fans.

To the Old Firm, it is just another trophy to add to their growing lists of success. However, every other one of the 40 teams that enter this tournament would love the chance to win it, and would celebrate the win happily. I would certainly love it if St Mirren were to win this, and this attitude of Old Firm fans not caring - it's so disrespectful for the rest of the teams.

For a neutral, is was a borefest. You'd expect some quality football from the top two Scottish sides, but it wasn't there.

Broadfoot made a hash of that "tackle", probably deserved red for goalscoring opportunity. Then again, Craig Dargo's been taken out three times (Boruc, Combe, McManus), none resulting in red, even though Boruc and Combe were violent enough for red, never mind other aspects. Just shows the inconsistency we have with refs.

Anyway, well done to Celtic.

"broadfoot made a hash of that tackle"

I think that was the point.

Good thing we allowed him to go to Rangers. He's became a bad player since he joined them, whereas with us he was at least decent. Now he's a liability.

Got an away match to the mighty Accies on Saturday, another day in the amazing away stand, named the Spice Of Life Stand

Ahaha!

Oh well, after 2 weeks of cup action, back to reality.
Couldn't help but mention this, but i was listening to Real Radio earlier on, one caller brought on the argument that if Walter Smith was to walk at the end of the season, would we see the same results from the same team?

Personally i'm sick of seeing 4-5-1, seeing players out of position, seeing DUDS on the bench such as dailly...it all must come to an end, but is a new manager the answer?

If Rangers do really need to sell players because they are in debt then i really dont understand why players like Daily and McCulloch are still there.

Regards to a new manager I think if Walter Smith walked away tommorow Ally McCoist would take over.

Mr.Mcquiston as a Rangers fan would you be happy to have a un-tested manager in charge of your team?

Simply, no.

Give us Allardyce or Levein.

I think Terry Butcher would be a great manager for either Celtic or Rangers.

Levein also.

Agreed, I think Levein has done a fantastic job with Dundee United, especially considering they are constantly losing their best players (Flood, Zaluska, Hunt, Robson). He's also a manager not scared to speak his thoughts, like his problems with referees. If we were to lose our manager, I'd be glad to see Levein as a replacement.

As for Butcher, I'm not sure, but he has done an excellent job with Inverness. When we beat them 2-0 earlier this season, they were the worst SPL side I watched since our promotion three/four years ago. Now, they are playing with confidence, they are winning, and it's all down to Butcher.

Great win for the Pars, once again proving why we need a bigger SPL

Nice one for the Pars, nice to see them in the final 4.

Something tells me they'll get to the final...

It's an odd last 4. It be amazingly typical for St Mirren to knock out both halves of the Old Firm and fall to defeat against Falkirk/Pars. On the other hand, the Pars keep losing in finals. On another hand, the team going down from the SPL tends to lose the final, in this case Falkirk.

Odd combination, and based on these random and unnecessary stats I just mentioned, it only looks like Rangers could win it :/

Still, hopefully two great semis to look forward to.

3 crap teams around the same level, one mediocre team. Can't call it.

Typical? Elaborate...... not as if St Mirren have any sort of decent record against the old firm, nor getting far in tournaments only to be put out by lesser opponents.

Agreed we don't have much of a record vs the Old Firm, but we've beaten both halves of them this season. And excluding this season, we had made the quarter finals in the Scottish Cup for 3 of the last four years, only to be put out by Hibernian (when we were 1st Div), Gretna (the year they made final, and we won the 1st div) and St Johnstone last season.

We've also been knocked out of the league cup by Dunfermline and East Fife the past two seasons. As you see, we have a major habit of struggling against what should be lower opposition.

I mainly said it be typical because you always see teams knock out big teams, but fall late on in the tournament. Barnsley, did they not knock out Chelsea and another "big 4" last season, and then lost to a Championship side? Just one of the things that always happen in football.

And more good news for the Saints, Andy Dorman has signed a contract for another year. Also something in the report about 1000 kids getting free entry at our next home game.

LOL! With McCulloch and Dailly at the back? I doubt it.

Dunfermline deserve it after their last defeat to Celtic.
But...i do want rangers to get one trophy at least, i'm hoping it'll be this.
