Boring 0-0 draw away to Hamilton yesterday.
Anyone who listens to St Mirren fans will know that Artur Boruc should have had a straight red for a terrible foul on Craig Dargo. They will also know the same thing happened at the first game at the new St Mirren stadium, and because it was the same ref, he had to give out only a yellow. Lucky escape for the Kilmarnock keeper.
Finally yesterday, we get a decent ref who sends off a keeper for injuring Dargo. Tomas Cerny this time the culprit.

So Barry Ferguson and Alan McGreagor have both been axed from Rangers. Think Walter Smith made the right choice. Glad he had the guts to do it.
I read Mark Hately's colum in the Daily Record today and i agreed with him when he said Rangers play better without Ferguson on the pitch. Dont think the loss of Mcgreagor will hurt Rangers to be honest. Neil Alexander is just as good.
I think Rangers will go on to win the title. Hope they dont but.

Ferguson is not a good player. He left Rangers to go and play in the premiership and he was a total flop. In my opinion Scotland and Rangers are better without him. I truly hope that no team buys him. Who does he think he is going out boozing before a crucial game? These players get paid far too much to care.

Good decision from the SFA (can't believe I'm saying that sentence!). Ferguson and McGregor let themselves down big time, and it's good to see Walter take action as well.
Anyway, St Mirren are deep in the relegation battle now. It's a 5 team battle, but I still think it's Falkirk who will go down.

I think it's between Falkirk and Kilmarnock for relegation.

McGregors a huge loss for Gers.
I'm glad they got what they deserved. Ferguson is crap anyway, never been at his best since he came back from England.
Don't get me wrong though, i think Neil Alexander is a good goalkeeper, but he just needs a bit of time.
A good result for Rangers away too, such a big game considering the dust was still settling from the week before.

And how bad were Rangers in the final 60 minutes?
Our opening 30 minutes were dreadful, and I feared a complete thrashing. However, we spent the final 60 putting Rangers on the back foot, and I felt we deserved at least a point. Disappointed to have lost as we were superb in the 2nd half, but that's what happens when you fall asleep for 30 minutes. Good goal from Dorman to pull it back to 2-1.
Big concern for Rangers though. To go defensive when 2-0 up against an 11th placed side for over an hour! That's just poor.
An Eddie Smith is an awful, awful referee.

Can you say anything more obvious? It's quite clear the Old Firm are miles ahead of the rest of the SPL - they have the money, they steal our best players, referees help them out, and all of the lower clubs lose fans from their town to the Old Firm brothers. The funny thing is how a little team like St Mirren can beat both halves of the old firm in one season, considering how much more money the Old firm has
Anyway, Scottish Cup semis on Saturday! A nice break from the league, I've been looking forward to this since we knocked out Celtic. Hopefully we can do the Old Firm double in the cup. All depends on how well we play for the full 90 minutes as our last match against Rangers showed - playing well for the final 60 minutes isn't enough, it has to be the full 90 or 120.
If the whole team plays to their best, we can do it. Another wonderstrike from Andy Dorman would be fantastic
C'mon the Buddies!

OMG! It's not the old firms fault they have an eye for a good player, besides, it's the players decision to join the club that wishes to buy him.
As for referees helping us out, you must be kidding. Rangers are the perfect example of a referees enemy!

Ok, steal may be over exaggerated. But from a lower fans point of view, we constantly lose our best players to better teams, denying us the chance to grow with our good players. Think of where Hibs could be with Brown, Thomson, Killen, Riordan (during his pointless stint at Celtic), or even Killie with Boyd and Naismith. The thing I fear is losing Andy Dorman to Rangers, I'd much prefer to see him go down south. I know it's something expected of a bigger team to buy those players, but it still upsets us as it reduces our chance of competing with the big two.
Refereeing...I suppose Rangers got the mention due to that horrific match with Dundee United last season. As for Celtic, they've been spoiled all season with refereeing decisions, including a fair few against us Buddies. Funny how the one match we aren't conned by the ref, we win it! Celtic fans may say the decisions even out over a season, but it's quite clear they don't.
Here's hoping the Semi Final is a clean affair with a decent referee (well, decent refs don't exist in Scotland).
Robbean, somehow I doubt Arsenal will win the SPL or Scottish Cup

Well, tomorrow is the big day! Scottish Cup semis, these are the moments fans live for (unless you "support" a "big" team). A major semi for the Saints has been long overdue, our last one being when we won the Cup in 1987, and I wasn't alive back then. Haven't been this tense or excited in a long time.
In other news, Gus McPherson has said that St Mirren will NOT sell Andy Dorman for anything under 1 Million pounds. Good work Gus
Also, some of the older fans (and younger Saints fans) may be interested in the release of the book "Aber's Gonnae Get Ye". It is written by Billy Abercromby, who was the captain of the 1987 Cup winning Saints side. Apart from football, a large part of the book is also based on Aber's battle with alcohol, which nearly lead to his death. However, he recovered, and his book may help out a few people out there with major drinking problems. It should be a great read, and I am thinking of buying this book.

As a Rangers fan, i'd like to wish the saints all the very best in our encounter tomorrow, lets give the fans something to scream about.
Also wish Falkirk and Dunfermline all the best on Sunday.

Not at the game then? I liked how your fans started leaving after 70 minutes, and about half of them had left before the final whistle! Great supporters. I sincerely hope Falkirk or Dunfermline win the final, because their fans would love nothing more, whereas Rangers fans will just say "Cup is ours, lets go drink" and forget about it the next week.
As for the game, Rangers deserved it. We were always going to struggle without Dargo, as Hamilton and Wyness don't do anything other than lose the ball. Gave away some poor goals, and 3-0 was probably the correct result.
On the up-hand, I enjoyed today. To be in amongst that St Mirren support today of 10,000 or so was brilliant. A great atmosphere in that one corner, the noise we made put the Rangers fans to shame, and it's something I probably wont experience again for the next few years. We may have been defeated, but against Rangers it's expected, so the main thing was having a good day out and enjoying my first semi, which I have done.
Bring on next year
