Me? Vain?

I've been sat on my stool reminiscing,
About parts of my life that went missing.
Thinking of childhood is so very great,
Thinking of great times I had with my mates.
Sports was always a big part of my life,
And success in that was getting quite rife.
Then I reached seventeen and I had to quit,
Due to a bad knee, I hung up my kit.
Still on my shelf I have trophies stood,
And if asked to play again I definately would.
I'm still able, not as fast as before,
But stick me upfront and I'm still sure to score.
Then there were girls, also quite rife,
But none of these women would be fit for a wife.
Now at nineteen, I'm still a young man,
Getting through university as best as I can.
And I have this place, where I'm a secret poet,
I only write here and my friends do not know it.
I guess its a hobby, I also write music,
Playing my songs on guitar - maybe some day I'll use it.

As i stand here, it's pouring with rain
it hits off me, i tighten my jaw with pain
I begin to get cold, starting to shake
i hear the sound that my teeth start to make
I wish i wasn't here, in this muddy feild
I need to get out of here, or at least, a sheild.
1 hour longer, i'll certainly pass out
10 minutes longer, i'll need to scream out
"someone, take me from this damn place
save the pain...i can't feel my face"
I felt an urge, joy, i felt so fear
But it was god himself...taking me from here.

On this thread right here are so many recitals,
And there's a small number of people who have to hand out titles.
They can be pretty random, they can be really good,
Sometimes we just dont do them, when we know we really should.

Some titles are just crazy, what can I write to that?
I look down at my feet and think in the same place that I'm sat.
Title's on adjectives, sometimes its a noun,
It could be colour -for instance blue or brown.

And people do leave titles, leaving just a name,
Just to throw in something extra so the poems aren't all the same.
We all enjoy our titles, but we do our own stuff too,
Maybe when I'm happy, or when I'm feeling blue.

So many titles have been left, by Paula and et al,
And when they ask if I will write, well I reply 'I shall!'
Titles, titles, titles, the backbone of this thread,
I can only say we love our stuff! - and thats about enough said.
