I think this has been the case for 15 of the last 20 seasons but I could be wrong, this season though the 1st race has been at bahrain instead of australia, bahrain has normally favoured the ferrari's more in the past but the australian gp has been a more neutral venue for the teams imo so will be a good tester to see how that race goes.

p.s. glad to get the most boring GP of the season out the way and looking forward the the australian GP

The bahrain is always a boring GP, thats why they added that mickey mouse section in the middle to liven it up but didn't work, the chinese and malaysian GP can be boring aswell unless like last season the weather spices things up, glad to see the canadian GP back, always an entertaining race there

Found out that 16 out of the last 20 seasons, the guy who won the 1st race has gone on to win the championship.

Gonna be an interesting race tomorrow...

Already looks like the incident with the police catching Lewis Hamilton driving a little too "spirited" on regular roads in Melbourne has affected his qualifying, not even making it into Q3....

Should make for an interesting race anyway, although Vettel is gonna be very hard to catch if his car stays free of problems.

Bad luck for vettel. Well I hope this race has kept formula 1 alive for fans, I certainly felt it was worth getting up ridiculously early to watch. A very unpredictable and exciting race. Well done button on getting mclarens first win of the season. I wonder how Hamilton will react to it next race.

Yep but it aint going to rain every grandprix, good race but still like to see the fueling strategies back in.

Was a far more exciting race for sure - not only due to the weather, but also from a few top drivers starting a bit further down the grid.

And some quite blatant hot-head tendencies from Hamilton for once. I can understand the frustration, and the exit was all Webber's fault, but still, way to high risk trying to overtake when he did anyway and clearly a call made from frustration and impatience.

Hammy's overtaking was too high risk?!?

Had Webber not ploughed into him, I reckon he would have got Alonso, Alonso locked his wheels and I reckon Hammy would have had momentum out the turn.

Good win for Button, and better still, he spun Alonso and wrecked Schumi's front wing at the start. Alonso's fault though, gave Button no room but couldn't have damaged a better two people's races

lets hope the malaysian race doesnt get stopped half way like it did last year cause of the weather.

why did the non refueling come in, in the first place?
to stop the mis fortunes of the fuel hose getting stuck on and causing a fireball like kimi's ferrari last year?

i think vettel will do a good job this year for redbull if he stops getting mechanical difficulties, he would have won both of the first two races if his car didnt let him down.

Both safety and economy.

I have decided I hate it though - less room for strategy = more boring F1

Not so sure about that, Hamilton overshot the breaking point pretty good himself

But yeah, would been close for sure

Lewis had him, but overshot the breaks so had to let him go, Mark didnt think lewis would overdo it and ended up going into him.

Dont think he wouldve passed him in the last lap or so, the turbulent air didnt give him much opportunity to pass, he had 1 maybe 2 good chances and one of those he got plowed in to (Must admit i laughed a bit)

I didn't

Alonso is an utter loser (ever after his season in McLaren), and Webber just causes a little too many incidents - he has always been a hot-head

What n00000bs they are!!

Both McLaren and Ferrari messes up big time on the weather and waited too long before trying to make a lap. The early runners had a dryer circuit, ran on intermediates and set far stronger times than was possible on pure wets later on.

And why Button didn't run in Q2 beats me - must be some problem with the car I guess, but they never mentioned it during the broadcast.

Alonso 19, Hamilton 20, Massa 21.... should make for an interesting race anyway
