mhmm, which is highly likely - although might be averaging fuel to get ready for the season, besides, speeds not everything as shown in pervious years people getting stuck behind slower people

The f1 website has some good gallery pics of the new cars for this season and latest news and interviews.

Just reading about Virgin Racings new VR-01 car, the car was designed only using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) instead of using a wind tunnel, shall be interesting to see if that works out.

Lewis Hamilton, with Jenson taking second

(one can always hope lol)

Anyways, this season will be alright for me as long as Massa beats the crap out of Alonso (will be a close call I'm afraid), and Rosberg beats Schumacher (more confident here).

Just to not disappoint Mr McQuiston and others. They aren't in this year's championship, they are now Mercedes F1.

But from testing, sounds like Ferrari will start as favourites

If I had to put money down on someone, it would have to be hamilton to win this season

So many inter-team fights that are gonna be interesting this season lol:

- Hamilton v Button (ought to be a clear advantage Hamilton here but you never know)

- Alonso v Massa (People seem to hold Alonso as a clear fav here, but don't take that for granted)

- Shumi v Rosberg - another one that's not given at all

I deeply hope Massa beats Alonso so we can have another season with grumpy Alonso entertainment lol - that season in McLaren was precious

1st Practice:
1. Sutil - Force India - 1:56.6
2. Alonso - Ferrari - +0.2
3. Kubica - Renault - +0.4
4. Massa - Ferrari - +0.5
5. Button - McLaren - +0.5
6. Hamilton - McLaren - +0.6
7. Liuzzi - Force India - +0.6
8. Rosberg - Mercedes - +0.6
9. Webber - Red Bull - +0.7
10. Schumacher - Mercedes - +1.1

2nd Practice:
1. Rosberg - Mercedes - 1:55.4
2. Hamilton - McLaren - +0.5
3. Schumacher - Mercedes - +0.5
4. Button - McLaren - +0.7
5. Vettel - Red Bull - +1.1
6. Hulkenberg - Williams - +1.1
7. Massa - Ferrari - +1.2
8. Petrov - Renault - +1.4
9. Alonso - Ferrari - +1.7
10. de la Rosa - BMW Sauber - +1.9

Main talk seems to be that Schumacher was half a second slower than his team mate in the second session. Mercedes and McLaren looking strong in it with the Ferraris who have been tipped to be the top team down in 7th and 9th. One team that have seemingly been quiet over the winter testing and not really lighting up the time sheets are Red Bull. Wonder if they will compete again and if Force India can really be a force this year too and collect some nice points

Lotus, Hispania and Virgin at the bottom of the time sheets in both practices with some of the drivers not even recording a time. Hispania's Indian driver, Karun Chandhok didn't record a time in either session.

Qualifying Results by the way were:
1. Vettel
2. Massa
3. Alonso
4. Hamilton
5. Rosberg
6. Webber
7. Schumacher
8. Button
9. Kubica
10. Sutil

Vettel getting with his work in quiet fashion as people have been just going on about the British rivalry at McLaren, the return of Schumacher and the Ferrari rivalry. Red Bull have been out the light but getting on with their work and got pole with a fantastic lap time by Vettel.

Kubica did well to get into the top 10.

Debate though: Should the teams of Lotus, Hispania and Virgin have been given more time to get a competitive car?

Chandhok of Hispania has already said this race is more of a testing session on the car and get laps under it's belt more than compete for any points

Blah @ Alonso

Good job by Vettel though, hope he has better luck for the future

No way around the fact that the Ferraries are looking very strong though, but fortunately tons of other teams being competitive too.

Impressive performance by Mercedes too imo - although they are basically Brawn 2.0, it's still a completely new car, new team composition, new engine, etc etc. Both cars finishing in the top 10 is awesome by any standards.

It still doesn't equal the 1-2 Brawn GP had last season though Jan

Hopefully the other new teams can get their acts together pretty fast and be competiting with the midfield teams for points

True enough, but that was historical, and produced by the massive rule change and car redesigns...

The same *could* theoretically happened again this year, but it doesn't seem that way.
