Who deserves the championship more? The consistent podium finisher with few or no wins, or a driver who gets a win or two, but is notoriously unstable, scoring few overall points?
Isn't that the same thing?
I just hope the vote goes in favour of the same system that's been in place for the last couple of decades.

I'm agreeing with you, Dave!
I'd hate to see it change......

John, i saw you mentioned consistency deserves rewards...well, it does with the old points system, the person that consistently scores points is bound to do well.
I just think it won't be as exciting as it used to be...

I bet it was Renault that asked for the original change - according to their TV adverts, it's "Time to Change".

i prefer the older system, only 6 placed for points 10 6 4 3 2 ,there was quite a gap between 1st and 2nd and it encouraged more racing between 6th 7th as drivers.

apparently he was fastest in practice, but that usually means nothing, but as a results of all the changes, maybe it is really going to be a real close season!

Button or Hamilton?!
Button or Hamilton?!

Coulthard is going to be a reserve for the first few rounds. You never know, he might get another race yet!

The McLaren supposedly being a bit behind at this stage.. Going to be interesting to see for sure. Both Ferrari and BMWs seem far more confident right now. Not so much the case for renault, who has done sub-par testing this far - much like the McLaren.

BREAKING NEWS
The FIA has confirmed that it has abandoned its ?winner takes all? plan for 2009 and that the existing points system will decide the drivers? world championship.

Nice one.
As testing goes, Button is in for a shout for the title, as Brawn GP are a SECOND quicker than everyone else.
Insanity!

Yep, It will be interesting to see how the rear diffuser argument plays out. Funnily enough, Brawn GP have the most controversial diffuser of the lot.

I was reading in my Advertiser an Australian newspaper, i read that Bernie said that is 2010 the winner takes all will be implement no matter what the teams say. my opinion is should be tested for a year and if it doesnt work dont do it again, like i say you never know until you try!

Agreed Nick, but sadly wont happen that way.... Bernie and the rest of FIA are far too arrogant for that.
As for radical car designs, look out for the red bull - Vettel may get a strong car this season yet :) They have had self-admitted reliability issues this winter, but the car has been fast.
