A mushroom that is found in a national park in america, most of it lives underground with parts of it visible above the ground. It's miles long...surely there's nothing bigger

Theres a room with no windows and only one door, you can NOT see inside it without opening the door! Inside the room is a light bulb which you NEED to turn on. There are THREE light switches OUTSIDE the room and only one can be turned on at a time. The door has no keyhole. Also, you can only open the door and enter the room ONCE. How do you figure out which light switch turns on the light?
(Hint: you can use more than one light switch)
