And the real version is that if there are is more than one user on an IP, it isnt a problem if they dont play each other exclusively (with one winning, usually) or create multiple forum posts from alternate users, or constantly sign out/in between certain accounts!

(AOL uses dynamically assinged IP's, i have a relation who works for them so its verfied.. dont be weirded out by what some ppl say)

You say that people would have to ask admin/mods to be able to have a second account on the ip? You could never police this.

Surely if the mod/admin gave permision for this, if one player beat the other 50-0, they could not be done for cheating as the staff have said themselves that these are seperate people?

Seperate people doing that at opposide sides of the world would be done for cheating just the same as people sitting next to each other..

Its not a case of "ok you can do what you want", its just a simple process in place so that people cant make multiple accounts willy nilly.

It would expect it to be a quite rare occurence.

Ok, I'm not sure I understand this... If the rules state one user must only have one account, how come there are many people with more than one? Surely it must be a rule with no exception?

So If you are being good then you can have more than one account ????

Like i said, (in the relevent thread a while back) if people are using them for anonyminity/posting then i can't see the problem, i'm sure most mod/admin will agree as i know a few of them do it for the the same reason as me and to also keep check on the chat rooms!

I neither agree nor disagree, I was just wondering whether multiusing was a rule or not because it seems a little unclear to me. The rule in the help section says people may only have one account, yet admittedly people have more than one? So the impression I get is that its ok to have more than one account, therefore the rule isnt enforced? Very confusing.

Well there are many places and many rules that are bent a little, this is just another one of them, not really confusing.

If you drive you will understand that on the motorway you can do 88 mph, yet the spead limit is 80 (or is it 70 lol).

We all know the difference between right and wrong, so if you feel what your doing is ok and your not braking the rules to a stupid length then i'm sure the site would have no problem!


I know ppl who have 3+ accounts, this i feel is excessive but as long as they aren't braking any rules (regarding spamming and cheating) then it's ok!

serendipity your right about that the rule isn't enforced but people have another name for different purposes like 1_eye said to remain anonyminity but i think it's perfectly acceptable to have more than one user name if you don't multi use.

Speeding on a motorway... If the speed limit is 70 and your doing 78 you will get pulled and fined for speeding if you get caught, thats the risk you take? So if you want to apply this to the site rules then in this instance, if you have more than one user name and get caught then your banned, if you get away with it, continue doing it?

But by having more than one account, you ARE multi-using.

Anyways, yes, the multi-using thig has been argued to death, and Admin have said it will be policed more heavily.

The suggestions made on this thread would hopefully help this if implimented.

I don't think you do understand m8, you won't be pulled over by the police for doing that speed as they let you go a certain percentage over the limit (think it's 10% of what the limit is)
As for multi accounts, as long as your not multi-using whats the problem, does it really affect you and spinner that much?

Rules in all walks of life are there only as a guideline, you and spinner take them to literal at times!
