Dude, if i cheated i wouldnt feel my name being brought out as a cheat was harsh justice. I would think oh well, i cheated, i deserve it.

<edit> im fairly certain if someone was deleted for cheating and someone named that cheat on a thread, the admin would have no need to look upon it as name and shame as the person has no rep to lose as he no longer exists.

Dont cheat= dont get slandered.

Cheat= if mods dont say anything about a high ranked player being deleted/banned/reset then people ask questions which sidetracks more important queries about users who actually genuinely participate without abusing the rules.

and if that doesnt hit the nail on the head, then ronseal doesnt do exactly what is says on the tin.

There was one simple reason why i posted on the thread. You cheated but then u decided to post on the forum about your 'achievement', which obviously brought attention to yourself. Then users started to congratulate you, which i felt was wrong because you didnt deserve it. And where in my post is the attack? i left it very open ended. Had u cheated and not posted on the forum i would have simply reset your score and not posted anything about it on the forum.

lol, the issue isn't about whether I have cheated or not.

No apparently it's about whether you should have been allowed to do so and expect nobody to mention it.

I think the best direction for this debate should be:
should people who have their stats reset for cheating be automatically named.

I certainly think they should.

In my opinion cheating is the lowest thing you can do on the game. It undermines the hard-earnt achievements of the people who deserve their rank, and is disrespectful to everyone who has been hoodwinked and misled.

I have never cheated at a game in my life. I think people who cheat not only have no repect for fellow players, but no repect for themselves. It makes me very angry when people cheat and think they can just shrug it off.

I believe all cheats should be automatically named.

If it was added to the game rules then there could be no arguements about it.

I dont understand what the problem is.

1. You cheated
2. You created a thread to show people you were at the top of the rankings.
3. Afey simply stated that your rank had dropped considerably.

Nobody came out and said you had cheated, most users assumed you had asked for your stats to be reset. You should have just left it there dude!

I think this conversation is probably over. Perhaps the mods should discuss with Nick about the possibility of something being put in the rules. It may even deter people from cheating in future!

Some good points raised here.

As spinner mentioned earlier - I think the best response when a thread has been made for a mod to simply say something like "score reset on violation of cheating rules". Currently we only reset scores for cheating, knowing this people could work out from the previous thread why the member had the score reset.

At the end of the day Anaconda, you cheated in an online pool game. You need to take a step back and have a looong look at yourself.

Nick I think we need to start naming these cheaters, especially when they are going to try and put us in positions where they make us look bad if we don't. How about we have the ability to mention it, (in circumstances like this) but it isn't a stringent policy?
As for Anaconda, never play golf, or tennis, why not try badmington?

Anaconda, be reasonable.

You cheat, then bragg about cheating to get an achievement, then moan when someone takes the mick a little bit! Maybe when you act like a reasonable person who isn't so obsessed with online pool that he needs to cheat, you'll be treated with more respect. Now, i can't think of any other reason to cheat for an achievement than some kind of obsession with being the best. The key thing here being its 'Online Pool', not the Olympics.

And i'm sure most the mods dont mind having the mick taken a bit, i certainly let people have banter with me while i modded here! And i still do on snooker.

I think its respect he needs, maybe can't get it in real life? setting up threads bragging is a deaad giveaway!

Anaconda, if you can't respect the site and it's rules, how do you expect the site to respect you? What Afey said was nothing compared to what you did, he just told it as it was.

I remember playing you a while back. You were a Professional if I recall, and you were good. You might have even reached your achievement had you played on fairly. Not only has cheating cost you your high rank in all 3 games, it has also cost you the respect of many players.

To sum it up: Don't cheat!!!

Magic - that last post was kinda what he was getting at. Its one thing labelling him as a cheat if thats what he is, but if you dont have that most edited by a mod (the way an ordinary user would) then he has a valid point with this thread.

not being funny yeah if the mods are all that good yeah and anaconda was cheating( which he wasnt ) then they would have known and they would have taken action then. But there was nothing done so proves he never done anything so why is everyone having a go at him. all he has done is achieved something that no-one ever has done before got 900 overall rank and you lot are having a go at him for that ¬_¬
just you lot need to think bout whats you say before you speak out. afey was wrong to turn this into a "name and shame" thread and this is why funkypool is going downhill
