I think Rooney is a dislikeable chap, and Owen seems nice enough.

However, no dilemma for me, Rooney all the way.

For me, Michael Owen Is about the 3rd best finisher in the premier league...maybe 6th in the world...But rooney is more creative. Owen upfront. Rooney attacking midfield...

(Or you could play 4-4-2 and have them both upfront...Just a suggestion)

Owen Is Miles Better, end of a day a STRIKER is to score GOALS.

Owens finishing is world class, he scored 2 very late goals amazingly against argentina and he scored 1 against poland and set up the other for lampard, his contribution is imense when u look at what hes done.
he scored a Hat trick against West ham on saturday for Newcastle United and can only get better.
hes scored 7 goals now for Newcastle in 6 games.
his goal ratio is better then any 1 at the moment...
and this isnt a new thing.,,remember england 5 - 1 germany....OWEN Hat trick! once again.

hes imense, and a great guy and character.

Owen is a better finisher and a better striker, rooney is the typical british centre forward big and powerful butdepite his vacant expression the boy has amzing talent and can hit some scorchers. Owen has the ability to score a lot of goals. Rooney has the ability to score alot of screamers, he tries anything and half the time it comes off. Its rooney for me....

I think it would have been alot different if Owen and rooney both came into their respective 1st teams at the same time. I think this conversation would be alot different.

Owen Is the better finisher without a doubt He sticks to his basics and it works. Rooney is more intellegent, Confident enough to try things. What you may not have noticed is for all of the "screamers" Rooney scores he has missed about 4 other chances.

My only major critisism of Owen is that he is a Celtic fan...poor lad.
