everyone that wants to become mod is making more work for themselves and putting responsibilty on themselves .. making sure their online for tournies etc

then just let them have the responsibility... they did ask for it in the end

We needed more people on the the funkypool team. Thats simple, the site is getting bigger every day and the tournaments seem to be having a huge effect on this. We rely on volunteers to help run this site, to run the tournaments, to moderate the rooms to make it a fun and safe place for adults and children alike without offending people. To run these tournaments and to moderate these rooms we need admin or moderators on as much as possible. Unfortunately none of us get paid for doing this so it is impossible for us all to be on here 24/7. Therefore we need to make the team bigger which is what we are doing. Users want more tournaments, well if thats what they want, then we need more moderators to run them. The moderators and admin don't have to do anything, anything they do is strictly what they offer to do out of their own kindness.

I'm sure you'll agree we needed more moderators, and then with losing one yesterday it meant we had to bring one in quickly. Now we plan to bring one in next week when he have decided who we want that moderator to be. You can't expect us to run this site 24/7 as a team and have meetings about who is going to be the next moderator, these things take time for us to speak to each other and decide who we want the next moderator to be. We now have about 10 dedicated staff and some less dedicated and they are running a site that has in excess of 5,000 users. If anything we need more, not less. I fail to see how increasing the overall team by one in the next week means that half the site users will be moderators soon?!

I don't really understand the complaint. On the one hand you are moaning we are increasing the amount of moderators, and then you seem to complain about who we choose. Why does it matter to you as long as they do a good job. Yes as you say its an online pool game, a bit of fun, so why start the thread moaning about it all? If its just a bit of fun, then lets just enjoy it!

I'd like to thank all the moderators and admin that are there to help out and try and make this site better FOR THE USERS. We'd love to pay you all and get you on here 24/7 but thats not gonna happen

I've got to say "kissing bum" won't get anyone a moderating position. There's plenty of people that started "The mods do a great job" threads and none of them became a moderator!

But anyway, if about 12 people started those posts, only 1 got a moderator position, so its not judged on that.
