MUFC: Close to signing Brazilian winger: Felipe Anderson from Lazio. Good player, old skool - tries to take on his opponents.

The Welsh Xavi with a much deserved equaliser in the last minute, sets up for. Great Liverpool-United derby, both teams not In great scoring form but come off the back of a 3-3 draw. If it's half as exciting as tonight at Anfield then we're in for a treat

4-2 win

Sunderland did well, but credit to the Swans they had 10 men
the referee and his assistants need to look at themselves in this game
0 out of 10 isn't good
but Sunderland benefitted for once apart from the penalty

Strange how we look more of an attacking threat without a striker on the pitch, but the formation seems to suit us well. Justa shame we have a poor back 4 and keeper.

I wouldn't say it's strange, 2 of the strikers that suit the style are injured, another is building up from a terrible season and is improving (though injured) and then Benteke doesn't really suit the style and is struggling to adapt. His movement is there still bit we don't seem to play as many balls into the box with him on (yet sometimes we play them with him on the bench), and he has been a threat when we do that.

Firmino is a striker, though his primary position is attacking midfielder because he is a creative player. Still, work rate is what pays off and midfielders tend to need to do the most legwork so packing the midfield is t surprising. With the squad we have now, we need to I've them time. Benteke and Origi to adapt, Sturridge and Ings to get fit. Buying another striker doesn't seem viable to me unless we get someone who with for in right away and we would need to sell Benteke or Sturridge realistically (unless we loaned a striker until the end of season but I can't see that happening). Klopp needs time with the current squad to see who will stay and what he needs, then go out on the summer and buy them (and sell who we need to). It's probably right that he doesn't buy any first team players this window because it's probably too soon.

@Zante - I wouldn't say that it's too soon for Liverpool to start buying first team quality players. Caulker is going to be a half decent rotational signing, he's a player i've always rated and one which I think can really make it to the England national team. Liverpool have spent the last few years signing some hot prospects and it's not really paid off because they've never been given much of a chance, Emre Can being probably the only real exception to that.

It'd be nice to see Liverpool pick up someone like Aymeric Laporte or Hummels even and then just sell Sakho and Lovren in the Summer because it's clear that they haven't adapted to being at Liverpool at all. Think it'd also be nice to see them sign someone to replace Sterling properly, Konoplyanka or Reus perhaps?! Difficult to see these players going to Liverpool but maybe not with Klopp still there

A first team defender would be an option, I imagine there could be an option to buy in the Caulker loan. But for forwards we have plenty and not really an idea of what is the best side to put forward, once everyone is fit again. That's why I think we need to found out where we are at before we can buy otherwise we could end up adding someone in and then trying to adapt again to suit them.

Klopp has the power to attract a marquee signing (which Rodgers was moving towards with Firmino and Benteke), so one huge star might be enough in his first summer window to get the ball rolling.

I would add Henderson and Coutinho to Can just off the top of my head for the hot prospects too.

I can't see Hummels, Gotze or even Reus going to Liverpool however, I think Gundogan and Subotic could end up there instead. I think Firmino was a great purchase he's beginning to settle and show his true capabilities similar to Depay for Man Utd. The last 2 subs performances he's played a lot better and made an instant impact. Promising times for them both.

United need to sign some players or 4th will be lost to Tottenham I feel - LVG needs to be removed from his position and someone with an ounce of passion, charisma and presence needs to be on the side lines. Giggs IMO just isn't ready and needs to be a more hands on assistant with the likes of a Mourinho or Guardiola. Possibly a Pochettino.

Liverpool are playing better and it's good to see Joe Allen playing too - I still think United will beat Liverpool 2-1 this Sunday.

I think tomorrow will be 0-0 or 4-3 depending on how things play out

But more pressure on United, so if they attack it will be an open game (which would suit us immensely). If they defend more and don't now down to the fans I think they could man the barracades and nick a goal on the counter. Fans will have pressure on LVG to give an open game but with it being away I think he'd be better off defensive minded for this one as it give United a better chance. The blood will boil though and I think (and hope) it's gonna be an open game and not a bore draw.

If you think United may lose 4th to Spurs does that mean you expect Leicester to be top 3? I know they deserve it so far but a bit of a wobble and I can see they ending up in the Europa places (but I'm backing them in the title race )

If United may lose 4th to Spurs, how do you have United in 4th with Spurs above them?

They are the positions I think will be the final standings but Tottenham are a threat to Man Utds 4th place. All depends on the slump Leicester could endure.

Good half so far from us, just the usual disappointment at not being ahead. Disappointing with the shots off target, maybe we could do with Benteke on because he'd benefit from the aerial balls and chances. United are happy to counter sideways and have been no threat. Fellaini should be off for the stamp though, if only it had been seen but that's what Fellaini is about, getting away with fouls and foul play.

It's not hard to see why United want LVG out, they had 3 chances to break around 20-25 mins and twice the ball went backwards and the other was Rooney just not playing a pass. Same as Martial shooting near the end and posing no threat then a first time pass to Rooney could've given a goal scoring opportunity.

Gutted Young went off because he looked uncomfortable at fullback all game. Probably more surprising to see him hit the deck with a genuine injury though .

What have you thought so far _knightmare_

Liverpool have been the better team, Firmino has been easily the best player on the pitch same as Milner's been pretty influential too.

United I dare say it have been too predictable and not created anything. I'm struggling to remember Lingard having the ball I'd like to see Depay on soon. He might actually run at Moreno just like Martial is Clyne.

Surely the match can only get better.

Definitely, I was actually surprised just how sideways you play. I understood it for your general play but for counter attacking too? Too slow and not direct enough

Yeah very disappointing even a bunch of crabs might move a little more attacking than we are atm. We'll probably score in a minute though,
