nope it cos its best of 8 so u have to still get to 5 lol
So once you get to 5 it makes no difference If you play the remaining games or not? If that's the case what is the point of 8 frames

There is no requirement to play 8 frames once either player has reached 5 (unless it was 5-3 of course!! ) or it has ended in a 4-4 draw.
It is to try and cut back on meaningless dead racks being played, particularly where there are so many different games on the go.
It is the individual points won in each fixture that carry through to the League Table. So, for example, Uprising 10-6 Opponents is a result. Uprising carry 10 points through to the League Table and the Opponents carry 6 points through.
The match score between the two teams only becomes significant where those same two teams are level on overall points in the League Table. Where they cannot be separated any other way then it will be by the direct result between those two teams.

Best to leave it at 'best of 8' because it can't be a race to five as 4-4 is a possible outcome! Same for straight, it can't be a race to 2 as that involves 3 games.. best of 2!

Well my first game back after a while went rather disastrously:
zante 6-9 alex_lewis
8us 4-1. He had a bit of bad luck, but I was playing well here.
9us 2-3. Started off poorly, went down quickly but pulled it back and ran the rack before I lost it again. I was unfortunate but he was getting his eye in.
8uk 0-5. Made a bad mistake in every frame, he punished me every time. Whitewash was very harsh and in reality, before this we were separated by my run out after fairly even US games. It was just a bit too aggressive by me and a few unlucky shots and the game was gone.
Good games mate, well played and well done . He punished me well when I made the mistakes and deserved the win.

He's a good guy is alex, and completely baffling at pool! Sometimes brilliant, and sometimes not - but always entertaining!

I played well but I was aided by the amount of bad luck chapster was getting, if there was the smallest place on the table where you needed to be to get screwed the white ended up there time and time again.
