I play killer all the time and all i'll say is that if you choose to tap that's entirely your decision. However, you'll have to accept that a lot of people (myself included) dont like it, and see it as a dirty tactic. So yeah, you wont be liked, but if you need to win that badly, it's your choice

Lmao but Ash, some people play this site to have a bit of banter with people while playing a few frames. You use the site for whatever you use it for, for some, it's a way of making some new friends having a chat while smashing some balls. Others, it's a site to be taken seriously. I dont judge because i used to be the latter but now i'm the former. So if you want to take the site deadly serious and do anything to win, by all means, tap away... If you enjoy the banter of the players on the site, dont tap, people wont like it

I agree with the above, all depends how i feel and who the opposition are too. Its easy to say have some banter yeah for the select few its easy the moment anyone else tries to its either ridiculed or misinterpreted. I like to have some banter but I also fall in the latter category.

The only thing i do take seriously is doing right by Phoenix Storm.

Killer is an individual game you do whatever necessary to win, don't hear an assassin go up to their victim and apologize for shooting too close to their eyes or heart do you. Might offend someone lol.

As for tapping, I enjoy it in real life, and admire a good defensive shot just as much as any attacking play. I reckon if you're given 3 lives, you should do what you like with them!

3 lives is not enough..iv already used about 7 of my 9 lives so we do need an upgrade.

Anyhow, I agree, its a game to KILL your opponent. Who cares how you do it, and if you get moaned at for smart play, that's on them.

Just so you know if you tap me I will happily set the person before you up to kill you every shot because it's just 'smart play' not to have people ruining good games

You play games to win, in that situation then the player did not really think his/her shot through because they left themselves open to that sort of shot. Personally I have used it, but only when I think I can't do any other shot or I would be significantly disadvantaged (e.g. the black would be then open for them).

It's not the only instance which could be construed as unsporting. For example, when on 3 lives people will still pot the black to stop others getting it despite them not needing it or it taking away a good opportunity to snooker.

I don't know why there is an extra level of etiquette in killer anyway, if someone starts deliberately missing in 8us then I don't see anything wrong with deliberate pots. It's all down to tactics and if you don't think about what your shot will actually do then it's bound to come back and bite you.

When I go to 1 life against someone on 2 or 3 I don't start playing safeties which can be tapped up - I play ones which i'll get a shot still even if they do tap up.

Some don't like it, just like smashing every shot in 9us, playing unnecessary safeties in 8uk, deliberate fouls in 8us, smashing the pack (and fluking a pot) in straight. Every game has a particular tactic people don't like, others can see it is a valid tactic and just get on with it. You don't have to agree with using one or all of them, just don't get upset if someone uses it because most of them are preventable.

Exactly mate, if you'd have not tapped up then most likely you'd have had to smash it and if you'd have fluked that way he probably wouldn't have been happy about that instead despite that being the only other option you had directly as a result of the shot he played. Pay it no heed and get on with your own game.

The funniest one is the tap fail where they underhit it and don't hit the rail giving free ball FTW...got to love that one
It's whatever you think is right, i've had the person before me not at their computer so getting free ball every shot...in that example I would take one life off the next guy but wouldn't snooker them both free balls because it's not fair and would be a hollow victory.
