What a goal, vintage Gerrard pass (take a bow son) to send Sturridge 1 on 1 and he never looked like missing. 1-1 and lets see what happens now

I really do hope so mate! I think it will be a tight first half, but we have not kept many clean sheets, keep conceding the odd goal.

So I think a 3-1 win, 2 goals in the second half after going into the break at 1-1

So far so good, 1-1 at half time after a tight first half. Not much in the way of good chances, Mignolet hasn't really been tested but Fulham have hit a few shots that have been blocked. Liverpool look a lot more creative than United did and Fulham have defended well to stop us so far. Think there is something here for us though, they counter well and get bodies back behind the ball but there have been a few times we've broke through. 3-1 might be a very good shout

3-2! 90 minute pen (+5 mins now added on). Think we deserve this, though Fulham have been brilliant and tough. Just as it seemed like the ref was giving things Fulhams way we get a pen (from what I saw it was rightfully given)

Look for liverpool to play like they did versus Asenal and actually grab 3 points is something that dont come our way often, we always seem to play great v the big! teams and either lose by the odd goal, but to come out tonight and not play as they can albeit fulham played well we came away with what we deserved 3 points and a chance to keep pushing for a top 3 place which in my eyes is achievable.

Win is a win no matter how it's done.

Come on Liverpool FC.

and you could see what it means for the players when our captain Gerrard takes off his top in celebration after he scores! Very hard fought

90th minute goal mate..it meant so much to the whole team as they know they have a chance of (top 4 or as high as they can) managers words.

But yeah great to see Liverpool up there this season and long may this run of form continue.

I thought an odd goal would win the newcastle game, but as for liverpool...

When the commentators said that liverpool were pressing so well at the end of the first half, i was optimistic, but then to concede against the run of play was tough.
But the lads showed character and you can see what the 3 points mean to gerrard, its not often he lets his emotions get to him (bar scoring vs everton ) but to take his shirt off, very good to see.

Not Pardew's fault, Kinnear's fault and he resigned before he got sacked. Newcastle need to bring in another loanee or sign a free agent to hold onto the gap they have over the bottom half of the table

Spurs aren't looking too bad, I read from some fans that they aren't playing better they're just grinding out points. But the manner of their victory yesterday was a positive one, though it was a much different Newcastle side and one that can only go down the table now. Against another team they will be more tested, I think 5th place is theirs to lose now. Everton and United battling for 6th realistically. United have zero chance of getting in the top 4. Everton have fallen away slightly and will probably be realistic and aim for 5th. Liverpool have 4th, theirs to lose but it's really in their own hands to get higher. The above teams will all drop points, it's whether we can get more results like yesterday which will determine if we miss out on CL or if we gain automatic entry (or somewhere inbetween)

I do not think that Newcastle will have to worry about the drop, but its the fact that they wont sack Pardew, he still has 6 years left on his contract (I think) so to sack him, they would have to pay out the rest of his contract circa £12M.

I feel sorry for Newcastle fans, ever since Mike Ashley took over they have slowly been in a decline, big players are made and sold on, they are a selling club. As much as newcastle fans will tell you that they are not, they certainly are.

I think the Newcastle fans are accepting a drop down the table, they know it's not Pardews fault as Ashley has undermined him with Kinnear. Probably looking between 8th-12th when earlier on in the season they were almost in the battle for champions league

Zante, who would be the player you would most like to sign in the transfer window, if a realistic budget of around £20m was an option?

and why?

Ohh, that's a tough one.

For Liverpool we need a solid CB, LB, DM cover and possibly something on the Wing to add depth. Since our weakest area is defence I would want to sign a new defender, Sahko and Cissoko aren't good enough for the prem (yet), Toure has started with some costly mistakes and was only supposed to be an experienced cover, Coates wasn't as good as he was supposed to be, Agger and Skrtel have shared Injuries.

Shaw at left back would be a top signing, though Ben Davies of Swansea would be a good alternative if we didn't get Shaw.

Joel Matip is a young, good quality CB and we could get him for less than £20 mill from Schalke. Papadopoulos (also from Schalke) would be a good alternative though, similar age and potential.

DM is a tough one, possibly Verrati from PSG but he's not so much defensive. I'm not sure who to buy (for 20 mill or less) for this position.

Shaqiri for the wing, from Munich. He's supposed to be the replacement for Ribery/Robben but both of them (particularly Robben) have stayed strong in the first XI so he might want out to get first team football. He would be a brilliant addition.

Wow, there are some quality players in the ones you have mentioned.

Shaw would be a great buy, but with Chelsea swirling for in for him, I don't know who he would rather choose...

Our Midfield I think is sorted to be honest with you, Gerrard in his new role is playing well, Hendo is making leaps and bounds and finally is starting to look like the player we all thought he could be from his Sunderland days! As for Countinho, he is getting better and better every week. Suarez and Sturridge speak for themselves really.

Defense is where I would really like to strengthen, but getting a top CB is like finding chicken teeth! I like your thinking on Papadopoulos, I hear rave reviews about him a lot, he would probably be a good buy and sit nicely in the heart next to Agger when fit.

If there was some spare cash floating around, and Brendan wanted to go wild, I'd would take a look a getting Pato into England, I've always been a massive fan, pace, precision and finishing like no other, just never seems to settle. Would be a good buy for around 12m...

Yeah, he's gonna be England's best left back in a few years. Hopefully he see's sense and joins Liverpool rather than Chelsea. He would benefit more from Liverpool because he fits perfectly into the style of player we're after, Chelsea might not make him a first choice for a while and just have a habit of hoarding players. If they do get him though, it might push through a deal for Liverpool getting Cole on a free (which is rumoured to be happening in the summer). So that wouldn't be too bad to bring in his experience as cover.

Midfield is very good I agree, just Gerrard and Lucas are prone to injuries and Allen hasn't really been good enough so far (though could still develop nicely like Lucas, Henderson, etc.) One more solid cover would do nicely, and since we're aiming for European football we would nice a bigger squad anyway.

I think we'll probably keep Toure as cover, with Sahko gone we'd have Skrtel and Agger as first choice but both are 28ish so some young blood wouldn't go amiss. Particularly if one (or both) get sold.

Pato would be a good choice if he could adapt to the prem like Coutinho (those two could develop a good partnership in domestic and international competition). He didn't do so well in his last season at AC Milan, and went back to Brazil but I have to admit I do admire the style of player. Whether he'd be happy on the wing rather than as a CF might be another story though. But he could play in our fluid system of forwards.

Might be a good shout ^ though he would be more than £20 million. Last CM we got who played well for Dortmund was Sahin who didn't seem too interested in playing for us.

Forgot to mention Texeira's debut last night. He didn't really get much to do but he looked comfortable on the ball and like he could really develop into something. So we might not need another winger. Though we didn't really see him much, he didn't look panicked and deserves more game time if he's doing well in training
