You guys can't save the site no matter how many posts you make. I ain't saying your ideas are bad, i'm saying they won't go anywhere. Feel free to carry on wasting your time on a pointless crusade though.

Is that a swear word? Im surprissed you not banned if so..but then again it does depend on the mod/admin..as i put in chat once the word this username called me...and i got banned less than an hour later on (9ballsniper)

There's no feasible way of doing this. After all we have different characteristics and personalities. Whatever comments were said should be ignored and reported, not posted in the forum or replied to. Don't give the 'abuser' the satisfaction of a reaction.

Clans are the only reason this site has more than 10 people active....... Make clans official!

She didn't name and shame or hasn't really done anything wrong, the only thing It's bin posted on the wrong thread, but that is quite normal for someone who is new to the forums!!

I agree with Chris, most of the members that are left play in clans so if clans were scrapped then that would more than likely kill the site completely!!

You'd have to guess the rest were in clan games.

What's left for a non-clan member? Nothing. There is nothing for me and it's hard work to get a game. When someone signs up new for pool they aren't in a clan. They also see nothing to keep them there. It's simple. Very simple.

Fair enough if clan members enjoy it. But if you can't see the knock on effect for the rest of pool then you have your head in the sand.

Can't be 'balls'. They are cold, hard facts and genuine stats from when I logged in at 7 this evening.

A website is like a shop display... if you don't catch their attention on their first visit they aren't likely to come back. If someone logs in and there are no games or no one to talk to (because everyone is in a clan game) then that person won't stick around. They are gone and won't be back.

Clans are great for the serious players and I'm sure are a great laugh. I appreciate some of you are really defensive about them. But the thread title is 'Challenges to make people stay'. No one new to funkypool will stay here when there are few games to play and they are automatically an outsider from the very start because they aren't a part of things with a clan.

New people are what keeps the site alive and growing. If this place is a load of bobbins for new people then the site dies. And that is what is happening - it's dying. You have to look at the bigger picture and maybe it's time for a serious think about clans.

7pm isn't peak time..... More like 10pm, maybe a bit later. Tournaments start on the hour, last an hour and more if you go far. If you want a game, create a room, I'm sure someone would play you.

It would be interesting to see the figures on people joining the site in the past 6 months, to the previous 6 monthly numbers....... At the moment, there is 11 clans, with 12/16 people in each, if FP somehow supported the league more, then it might get a new heading - "The league site" etc. It's could be like a pool league, just online. And still keep the modes for people whom don't want to play. But most would be up for an official league/cup.

And paddi, I genuinely see where you're coming from, but scrapping clans would scrap this site, almost instantly.

I guess It's been a long time since you've created a game, 9 times out of 10 when I create a game, I wait 10, 15mins for no one join then log out. I see where paddi is coming from, no new members will stick around cause they'll find it virtually impossible to get a game and won't bother logging in again!!

It's nothing at all to do with clans tho I think It's tournaments what's doing it, there's like 5 or more tournaments an hour or something ridiculous which is just stupid, you can log in at anytime and join a tournament so that's what most people do, get rid of loads of the tournaments to 1 an hour or something then a lot more people will create games and new members will stick around!!

I agree with the above post also the chat rooms are dead, if its not the same 2 or 3 persons talking then no one else does. I think it were clooneman the mod who tried to communicate with the room by doing little quizzes that were a little fun. Sometimes it feels like a cemmetry has more life.

Way too many pointless tournaments, a new ranking points overhaul could be done, maybe have set rooms based on current rankings ie 700-720 only, when you exceed 720 then time to move on, allow 3 resets only per 1 year subscription, only able to do if a premium member, maybe limit deactivations set to the same criteria. I don't know just thinking of some ideas, its too easy to give up, there's a fair few who want to fight for this site and I'm one of them.

I created a room last night, and within 5 minutes someone came to play. Although, I respect that might not always be the case.

I personally think Mirco's are doing it, I was very happy with the arrangement of the main Tournaments being every hour, on the hour, set in schedule, and the Marathon's, Speed and everything in between being at the half of every hour. Micro's are every 10 minutes, and I don't see the point in them really...... More people would play ranked game, whilst they waited for the main Tournaments to begin.

I agree with this a lot, or make the tourneys non-ranked. I bet a lot of serial resetters would stop resetting if the tourneys were not double points and an easy way of making quick ranking points.
