Reading above is all about keeping existing players happy
The site has evolved, people will always deactivate get banned or simply leaves
Having achievements recorded again does what and for who
I'm sorry it does nothing for newbies entering the site and keeping then, that's were the problem lies. It's a shame we couldn't see how many newbies visit and leave
When leaving maybe fill a form asking what they thought of the site
Like how did they like it
We're the games good
Did you enjoy the chat room
Was it easy to navigate
Could you find a game to play
Did the forums enlighten you
Im sure you get the jist
Then adapt the site with customer input
It's called customer service without feed back what can anyone do

If people having achievements to get does nothing then why do you sit on here 24/7 to get shiny medals for your profile?
People start playing a playstation/x box game and the game gives them rewards for getting further and further into it, keeping them interested as they are learning.

Nothing to do with whether or not you agree really craig, I don't care tbh it comes down to whether nick or admin like a suggestion and think it is worth the effort to implement as to whether it gets taken on.
Why complain about something like this though craig? It can only be positive, it wouldn't make anyone leave that's for sure and might make some people stay around longer.

im on about new players having a good environment to play in and maybe stick around
if they dont, then people need to act upon it
and ask a simple question why not

wont deactivate, because of your incentive to stick around and gain some sort of achievements

Craig, compared to most other games or game sites (see COD, GTA, yahoo games, etc), funky is a peaceful paradise of flowers and unicorns.
Even you- for years at the center of every major argument on this site- having nothing on the people that play on those sites. So pointing to a "hostile environment" as a source for lack of players is mistaken.

Why should this game be only about tournaments and ranked games?
Straight is nice, and Killer also..
Id agree that Arcade is a waste of time, and there are way to much Arcade tournaments..
Also the time, when regular tournaments were closed for newbies, was much better in my opinion..
I say the only way to make players come back is set it to how the site was about 5 years ago by eliminating EVERYTHING but 8 ball uk, 9 ball u.s and 8 ball u.s.
I am saying everything but those because that's how it was 5 years ago. Many people can say oh what about straight?
Well. by adding in straight your just having more players play that by not entering tournaments. Since it takes long to complete a straight game or even killer at the fact they don't bother joining tournaments.
Like I said, if it was me I would take out all games except uk, 9 and 8 u.s then you would see the numbers enter in tournaments AND RANK MATCHES for that matter.

I like the idea of gaining achievements, it's why you keep playing COD or fifa, to unlock a new trophy or level up.

Guys do you ever get bored of this,coming up with ideas that lead nowhere. Honestly it's thread after thread.
It's to late for people to bother coming back and it's gonna get worse. Nick and admin have themselves to blame. Too late for this site to be saved. It's had its day. It's only good for a knock about now.

It's not too late to revitalise the site kirk but I agree with it being low down on Nick's priorities we may be banging our heads against a brick wall but thought if the idea was simple enough to implement then it may get taken on.
Do still see enough new people trying the site and not staying around, the achievements could keep them interested long enough to reach a decent standard.

It's more to do with getting more people here, like lethal_lures has said, there is NO advertising anywhere for funky!
How do you expect to increase traffic when nobody that isn't already on here, knows nothing about the sites existence?? It's also slightly comical when you log on, and one of the adverts down the side of the screen is for a dreadful alternative pool/snooker site....

You guys can whinge and bicker at each other, all because you think your view on how Funkypool can improve is the right one. Have you seen admin talk to us about what could be done? Have you seen nick coming on here and explain why there's no advertising? You're all fighting and creating enemies in each other. And all over something that becomes irrelevant when you realise that this site is never going to progress. You keep putting your time into posts that make suggestions for improvements yet your words fall on deaf ears. Until nick, or spinner give us all a real explanation of why this site can't be marketed elsewhere, why some of your great suggestions go unheard then I recommend that nobody puts their effort into suggesting improvements. Until this site helps itself we shouldn't be helping it.
