It's wrong to blame nick or criticise him. He has done something - he made an Android app and opened a Facebook page. You can do no more than that realistically.

People need to understand that the world is a very different place to a few years ago or the 'glory days' as some of you call them.

A few years ago this site was quite modern and was the place to be. Nowadays people don't even use PCs or laptops as much. It's all about smart phones and tablets. Sites like Twitter and Facebook weren't a big deal as recently as 2008. The world has changed very quickly so it's understandable that sites like this one suffers. I don't think any amount of advertising would change that and would be a waste of nick's money.

The world has simply moved on from games like these.

Yes, very true. For another influx of players, the game would need to focus on smartphones/tablets. I think nick is trying to do that, although he may have other priorities.

I personally think the whole site needs a revamp tbh, there's really nothing 'Funky' about this website. If the site were maybe a little more exuberant may attract a newer crowd. Maybe there could be some newer game types brought in like 'krazy pool', kinda like crazy golf but with pool balls, but with shots and trick shots from virtually impossible angles.

Funkier colours, a revamp to the scoring system making it fair for all and not just 1 sided to be a newbie, (might reduce serial re setter's), just some ideas.

I also think to be a member you should be in an exclusive club than just a choice of 5 cues which do nothing to help your game, lost count how many newbies said to me 'nice pool cue, does it help?' lol. Answer is NO!, not saying it should, just think exclusivity may entice and appeal to more ppl showing a curiosity and more may join - thus increasing revenue for the owner 'nick'.

Lastly it's soooo easy for people to be negative, IF more people showed more of a positive attitude towards what has been done then maybe more updates may have occurred. It's soooo easy to be negative and find faults, but even those who do still log on...so cannot be that bad.

Its not a bad place to spend time Ash,if not taken too serious,a bit of pool is played,log out and get back to the day to day things in life.

Yeah I agree mate, but to those who want the longevity then maybe a revamp ain't such a bad idea, as they say ' each to their own', but the site needs to be prepared for the 'longer lasting players'

Exactly! And just because the site is getting less popular doesn't mean a revamp is necessary or urgent. We move on from everything and everything moves on. For example, the UK used to have Dad's Army, Mr.Bean, Only Fools and Horses, etc. - all that great TV that made the goggle box a real family relative - , and now we have the X Factor. Our interests of television and tv programmes have moved on from how it used to be.

If there isn't going to be a revamp of funky in a while, then that's fine. Our interests move on so we can play something else if we wish. All things must come to an end but then again, you'll get new things.

But wait - what if we run out of things and we eventually get nothing to move away from and get to (which would take milleniums of course)?

Agree with some and disagree with some. Communication is the biggest error on this site. Were told stuff is in progress but it never really seems to come and thats what we get every 3 months. If we were told what the plans are and kept updated weekly or whatever it would be better.

You can't really agree or disagree with any of it as it is not my opinion - it's simply a 100% fact of life.

And are you having a giraffe? Who decides they are important enough that nick owes them weekly updates? It's just unbelievable. More people need to know their place on here and let nick get on with running this FREE site at his own pace and stop making ridiculous demands of him.

Wasn't a demand, simply an idea. I don't really care about this site any more to give out demands. Not that I ever gave demands anyway. I think you should also read other people's posts properly as I don't think the majority are demanding, it's simply ideas. Without them there wouldn't be a lot of additions to the site than there was years ago. Whether these points are listened to or not is up to nick and admin. Personally I think this site is dead and never going to get back to its heights. I certainly never thought I would stop playing.

As soon as people started paying for premium memberships, the site has slowly dwindled away. Not insinuating owt but take the money and run springs to mind

Funny how snooker has the same concerns over the site as you do here. I remember too, on snooker, we all had various small new features added... following many complaints. I recall I asked Nick to share with us a development timline, where he could demonstrate he's listening to us by showing us his plans on implementing new/less features to bring some buzz back. I don't know whether or not I should have a smily or sad face on this... so will go with both

Because in real life you walk into Lloyds and the light may cost a little more from time to time but that's it really

On here you have a choice of cue, colour of table and maybe use F11 and make the balls bigger more players to play, you can have a drink have a bit of banter and all this for NOTHING

Clan pool was a great idea when it first came out, the hostility on the threads is enough to put anyone off viewing them for the first time, as I've said before multiple accounts and the use of IP blockers and cheats is what needs addressing

I actually agree with that, far too many cheats on here with multiple accounts or people using proxys to get around being banned.
