As a union member you are expected to comply with a decision taken as a result of any legal ballot carried by a majority vote. That is the strength of a union in such circumstances (that is notwithstanding the value unions have day in day out in numerous other areas of the workplace and working life in general). However even then if your own personal beliefs are so strongly against the union action being taken then you should still retain the right to work if you wish.
Where strike actions are called without the support of the majority and then effectively enforced against the will of the majority (or even just against the minority) by intimidation then that is not right either.
