I know this isnt real life and all , But how come ive played a few games last couple days and in 8 Ball Billiards people are potting my ball and fouling just so they can win the game, wether it be because my ball is in the way of theres or wether it be that they cant get the black so they pot my ball so that i have no choice but to go for my ball to free up the black ....In my world that is classed as more than just a foul and being able to move the white you wouldnt be able to carry on with the game its an instant DQ the rules state you cant do that its cheating ... How come the real rules arent played like that on here?

How many halfwits are on this site??? I play league pool on 3 different nights, and deliberate fouls are allowed in all 3 leagues. If you watch US 8ball on the television, deliberate fouls are part of that game too. Just because you play some dumbed down, drunkard pool in your local, doesn't mean you're playing it correctly. Jesus Christ!!!

It is all part of the game and there is nothing wrong about it. It is not a tactic that everyone use as it does need a bit of brains behind it to know exactly what you want and need to do to win.

I'll do it on occasion but it is really simple for me, this is an online game yes but why would i want to go into a match and possibly lose. Ill do what i can to secure as many wins as possible.

As powerfool says, there is no way to code it so that the server knows when it's intentional. On the other hand, I've done it myself and seen it done to me, and I've never had a problem with it. I might have apologised in advance though, cos such a shot is kind of against the idea of the thing as it would be played. But the rules as they are say it's all good.

But all good or not, the other thing is that potting the other guy's ball is taking a big risk. You're giving him/her ball in hand, and you never know what might come of it. Now, if you had 7 balls on the table and one of them was over the pocket and the black was next to it, and your opponent taps the black, knocking your ball in and clearing the pocket on his next visit, it's easy to be less than pleased. In those circumstances, all you can do is... place the ball anywhere on the table, anywhere you like, and pot all 7 of your balls in one go (without the problem of the black or any other balls getting in the way) and then tap the black in. The balls might be placed awkwardly, but that's part of pool's challenge in general. If you like, you can play a snooker, and with only one ball to aim at (the black), your opponent will probably miss. However, you're taking a risk there yourself because you're giving your opponent a chance to get lucky and win, where otherwise he has no chance if you keep potting and clear up.

I just went through the 8-Ball rules of the International Pool Tour and the US Professional Poolplayers Association and found nothing that says intentional fouls are illegal.

Yeah i get you clooneman , Just a little wacky when the shot taken to put my ball is intentional and played when the only other ball on the table is the one they want me to hit to free there ball , & Usually that shot is either impossible or very very difficult

Anyways , Not that it matters i just thought it may have been a problem to others also
