End of the day it's down to jay to run it how he feels best we have all said our pieces and I'm sure jay will take them j to consideration when making his decision. 2 divisions would be better for at least one more season
In the interest of fairness then I we decided now to make this next season at least everyone already knows.

Its proven that if we have two divisions, the best teams get bored and go their own ways and make new teams? They get cocky and start to argue within their team as to whos the best and who is the best player! To have one division this would stop teams folding!

You will never stop teams folding, there are various reasons why clans fold, its not always caused by arguing, MVP folded this season and we didnt have any arguing within the clan, our reasons are more to do with what went on outside our clan.

How many seasons were MVP, cobras and untouchables(old version) the teams to beat? Probably be the same with professionals when they get promoted.
There is only one incentive and one reward for clans that do stay together at the moment, take that away and you obviously will have more folding and more different super clans forming each season.
What has everyone got to play for in one division too? Division will be between 2 teams by the 3rd set of fixtures and we just have 9 also rans...that'll keep people riveted eh lol

This can be very confussing, when i first started Fighting Eagles. We played very hard to get in div 1.As then you had to start out in div2.I think it gives a Tean something to shoot for.If ever Team was in 1 division nothing to look foward to.We made div 1 first season. But was a task.Guess i really dont no what to think. So guess we will just go with the flow lol. However
i agree with Jay,with all the teams folding and having to startl over in div 2 the onsce div 1 teams will dominate div2.I see it coming now

Never thought i would see the day, but this post sums up perfectly why 2 leagues isn't working and why we should look at changing. Agreeing with seb that must be a first
The two best arguments against one league I think are:
1. Many teams won't have anything to win, because one or two teams will dominate.
Answer: This is a valid point. A second division gives "other" teams the chance to win something. In theory.
In practice however we see a very strong, newly-formed clan in div2 almost every season. It was Untouchables this season (easily a good div 1 side), a couple of seasons ago it was Snooker Squad and MVP, next season it will be Professionals and Chips and Gravy.
So actually, you just have clans with great players pounding all of div 2 for a season before they come up. No difference at all.
2. Clans have no incentive to keep going and could just reform in the same division next season.
Answer: Also correct, but again only in theory. As we can see, MVP's players or UT's players clearly don't mind folding and making new clans that will play div 2 next season. So obviously, a second division is not something that stops good clans from folding.
Two divisions only makes sense with stable, long-running clans. Next season we'll have clans dominating div 2 that could compete for div 1. Same as a few seasons ago where MVP and Snooker Squad were probably the two best teams overall but were both in div 2... makes little sense to me.

00:56 Thu 30 Aug 12 (BST) [Link] With teams constantly folding, the incentive you're talking about is clearly not strong enough.
What did div 2 teams have to play for this season with UT in it? What will they have to play for with Professionals, Sinners, Chips and Gravy in it?? Those are all div 1 teams that will be spanking the rest.
Again, all your points are valid in theory, but simply haven't worked out in practice.

Makes no difference? if in div 1 or div 2? after first few games in either div it is so biased toward the 'super teams' you speak of? just like the football premiership? lol but if man utd got beat by acrington stanley?> then thers someting to talk about? not really worth talking about a win againg snooker squad really is it?

Answer to answer
At the moment you have 2 or 3 teams going for the title in division one, 4 teams going for promotion in division 2 and 2/3 teams battling against relegation from the first division.
That's everyone except the bottom couple in the 2nd division with something to play for all season.
With 1 division you have the reverse, 2 teams with something to play for and the rest with nothing

Facts are that clans are always going to fold for various reasons and when this happens we end up with top clans in division 2 who really should be in division 1. With one league it doesn't matter what clans fold as every season starts fresh with the new clans and old clans and in theory the best team out of all the clans will win the league.

-The title in division 1 was all but over a fixture before the end (which is a lot considering there were only 6 games lol).
-Nobody is fighting against relegation, because we won't have enough old clans around to fill a division lol.
-Nobody is fighting for promotion, because loads of teams will get promoted anyway (looks like top 4 or 5 spots from div 2).
See, this is all theory!!!

But the 2 seperate divisions have lost their edge anyway. A clan folded early on and it seperated div 1 into 2 teams playing for 1st and 2 playing for 3rd. There's a promotion incentive of course, but the reverse is true. There should be an incentive to avoid relegation. There just isn't at all, and its ends up every Div 1 team stays up and Div 2 teams go up despite not earning it through being the top team or 2nd.
A few seasons ago I would argue for keep the 2 division. Right now though if i was in div 1 i'm confident no matter where my clan finishes i'll probably end up staying in the division. And that if i was in a div 2 team i had a good chance of going up even if I wasn't in one of the top 2 clans.
1 division could create more incentive, you could only have it for 1 season and the top 5 become division 1 and the rest go to division 2 or something like that.

01:06 Thu 30 Aug 12 (BST) [Link] Ah crap, now I have to go change my opinion.
Snooker squad have the most to lose if this change goes through as in my opinion if we stay with 2 divisions you will win division 1 easily next season. So maybe change the rules the following season!!! Or would SS prefer to beat Professionals, Chips n Gravy etc and then win the league with them in it?
Most top players/team want to win by beating the best and not winning by default or due to the other top teams not being in the same league.
I pushed to get one big league before last season started as i wanted MVP to win the league by beating UT and SS, yes we won division 1 but i would have preferred to win by beating UT as well.

Agree with this, but if we go with one big league we should keep at one big league and not split back up again. One big league allows for the fact that clans fold etc and stops unbalanced leagues happening again as is currently happening.

Yes shooters folding did mess up the first division last season, but wait a minute you are the one that wants to reward them for that?!
You can't argue a case that anyone will have anything to play for in the 1 division scheme at all apart from 2 teams...it won't always be as bad as it was last season for teams folding because plenty of times it hasn't been and good teams have stuck together for a long time.

Looking at the divisions, the only place there was the level of competition which makes the league exciting is between 3rd and 4th in div 1. 2 points seperated Team Angry from Latin Legends.
In division 2 no team are within 50 points of another, where is the competition there?
