I'm sure everyone thats played this site for a few years has noticed that it is alot less popular currently. A few years back i could come on at 5am gmt and would not struggle to get a game, now however, there are very limited options.
My personal opinion after discussing with many members that the downward slide started not long after the tourny point system. May i suggest a poll to see if users prefer the system currently or how it was? I would be suprised if the result was less than 70-30 in favour of not halving none tourny games. Surely it is beneficial to the site to go with the masses on this one, especially after the recent decline in activity.

This is a common misconception. The new systems were introduced partly because of the downturn in order to attract more players to the site.

still, the majority of people i have spoken to have stated they dont like it, and the format clearly hasnt worked getting regular users back. So I still say a simple poll would shed some light. Not forgetting it would be biassed in favour of pro voters as many that dont like it dont play any more and wont be voting. So if the majority vote against that will say alot in itself. Just think for how easy polls are to impliment, we should all help develop the site for the better in a democratic manor.

Personally I think the downturn in the site has just been down to people's lifestyles, people start to lead busier lives have children move in with partners or even get married, funky is not advertised enough to attract the attention is quite clearly needs and warrants in my opinion. It is without a doubt the best pool/snooker site free/pay out there and deserves more than ur gets but I don't think the changes within the game have affected anything I genuinely think it's just a shame that people have too busy of a lifestyle to sill play I regularly.

this site has never been widely advertised and yes, peoples lives naturally get busier as they get older and more commitments, but new users should be coming through to replace those that leave as was the case. I have a full time job, also take courses to further my career, have a 1 year old child and am in a steady relationship, but still find time for the site :P i genuinely believe that it is something that has changed in the site that people like less now. But like i said before, i think polls that we can vote on would helpthe site, for this or other debates. Or would atleast be good research for nick and site owners.

yes i found this site by accident, i walked past my friend at school and i saw this game and was lik woah what a game!

as to other members i have no idea how they found it,

( i personally believe the name should have 8ball in its title or become its title, ) if you type in billiards or 8ball into a search engine, you wont find anything about funkypool in the first couple of pages,

fairly obvious solution to this.......set the site back to how it was 4 years ago

Snooker seems to still flourish. You enter tournaments and there are like 1000 points for grabs, I don't think it should go back to the old days, just something done like doubles to get more people on. That's the real winner.

I also would like to see doubles brought in, this is something that has been mentioned for a while now and it doesnt appear to have been moved any closer

And yes I agree that many people would love to have doubles on this site, but it seems at this point that even doubles won't bring the numbers back to where they were a few years back. I think the main issue is the 78 tournaments within every hour which is making people lose interest in the site.

I have no problem at all with tournaments being ranked and the new game types, it just seems rediculous to have so many tournaments especially the micro tournaments. The other day i entered a tournament and left my chihuaha on my chair when i went answer the door, i came back and saw "Congratulations to _marc_ on winning the blah blah blah"....so technically my chihuaha has won a tournament on funkypool on her first try. It took me close to a year to win my first tournament.

Yes this is a rambling story, but my point being with so many tournaments now, all you have to do is enter and hope no one else enters. You could never even wish for that to happen a couple years back with 60+ players in practically every tourny.

in Arcade Snooker yeah but on snooker tournapoints revolves around one type whereas pool focuses on every type, i do agree old ways was best but keep tournapoints so for me remove ranked tournies, replace with friendly once an hour with couple micros and put rank how it was before ranked tournaments

Absolutely no to those two if you want anything meaningful in terms of a ranking system!! Neither of those two issues would have any affect on numbers anyway.

Not against reducing tournament numbers but there would need to be an option in their place for people to play.

Of course i loved the old system, the 10:00pm uk marathon tournies at night was like the main thing back in the day. Used to be 100's enter at night and i was proud to say i won a few against such high competition. Unfortunatly i think im one of the few that still remember them days lol.

The new changes though i do kinda like. Just the level of tournaments is too much. It does need a rethink. And micro's need to go.
