What do you consider permission then??

"can you sub yourself in"
"would you mind subbing"
"can you sub in"

Any of those ok?

Or does it have to say:
"I hereby solemnly declare that player x does indeed have my official permission to substitute himself into the game pirate_steve vs otherguy"

ur first 3 suggestions only ask if a player wants to play, what would be fine is

"you can sub in if u wish" or "i give permission for anyone to sub in for this game"....no one has had a problem with this until now, until a time where no permission was given...

sub ineligible due to no permission given...dont see what the argument is personally

so "you can sub in" and "can you sub in" are a massive difference. To quote John McEnroe- "You can not be serious?"

Was explained yesterday too why we need this rule...

player makes a sub to get a game done > team loses baddly in the game > captain comes on and says they didnt want the sub done > no choice for the league but to replay

This is why we ask for posted proof of players being allowed to sub themselves in for games from captains or vices.

If that situation had happened in this instance latin legends wouldn't be able to get the game replayed as they posted permission for red4ever to sub in....league is covered by that post so no problem with the game whatsoever.

He is doing more than giving permission to sub in he is specifically asking him to sub in.

ant- consider this sentence:
"Would you mind getting me that glass of water?"
That is asking someone to do something right? The person will then get the glass of water (carry out the action).

Now the same question:
"Would you mind subbing in?"
That is asking him to sub in. red4ever therefore went on and subbed in.

not at all seb, i could say "no i wont" or "i cant, im busy"

no permission was given, and if capt was online, why didnt the capt just make the sub, so no confusion would ever have happened?

Because either the player in the game could have played it or red4ever if he saw him...

What's the difference between those two examples? Not sure how the second does not ask him to sub in...

yes it asks him to, it doesnt say "red u can sub urself in if u wish" or anythin close to that...it says "would u mind subbin in"

asks a question, not givin permission...complete difference

well if a capt was online y not just say "x player, y player or z player can sub in if they wish, they have permission"

I think that's what they meant?
As the name of their clan says, they're not all native English speakers (neither am I actually). I'm fairly sure when they ask someone to sub in, they want him to sub in... that's at least what I mean when I ask someone to sub in or ask someone to get me a glass of water.

whether they want him to or not, it does NOT state a player can sub themselves in if they wish...even if it was meant to be that, it clearly was not givin permission goin by what the post says...its still only a question

im sure most, if not all people aint mind readers, i could say "im not playin this game" <<< by that ud think im not playin it at all, but what i mean is "im not playin it tonight"....complete difference in what both statements mean

No confusion did happen. I can clearly see dan asking ryan to sub in and telling him the deadline so he knows when it has to be played by.
I'm totally satisfied that this substitution is valid.
I posted 'can anyone who hasn't played against shooters sub into the last game.' recently...
Some pedantic people could say that I was asking for an explanation of how subs work and i should have put 'will anyone who hasn't played against shooters sub into the last game.'
Course it's all a bit ridiculous

still askin a question, not givin permission

also by sayin "can anyone sub themselves in who hasnt played" is givin permisson, yes its a question, it it clearly states anyone who hasnt played, can sub in"...different question entirely to "can u play"
