And then if a captain refuses it will prob go against them in default, which is hardly fair when the captain is putting themselves at a possible disadvantage if they were already up in the game?

i wouldn't count it against them really as its the captains right to refuse, should only be used in case of a deactivation, banning or leaving the clan.

5.6 Substituted Player's Eligibility
A player who has been substituted is eligible to be substituted back in to play in any other game of that fixture. A player may only play once in any given fixture. A substitution is considered official from the moment the captain has posted it in the substitution thread.
Was wanting to see what others thought about this rule, as i remember someone may have mentioned it not to long ago to me either on the thread or through offline message. I think that the rule which is posted above allows match fixing to take place as you can sub your best player out of a hard game for example as you think they will not get alot of points but you can then sub that same player straight back in to a relatively easy game. This could be done with a swap as well though i already know that.
I was thinking more along the lines of if you sub out a player then that player can only be subbed back in to the original game they were subbed out of (Pretty sure this rule is also in the FBL)
As the head league runner i would consider re-doing this rule and implementing it straight away in the FCL this season.
What do others think about this possible rule change though?

Don't see how it would cause more defaults though as you can still use the swapping to get games played, also with the clan size the way it is there should not be many defaults at all.

Think it has it pros and cons like any other rule change.
Useful to stop match fixing but could result in more defaults.
Would say give it a try because really we should try and avoid swapping people about too much since there are no restrictions like the FBL with players being locked into a particular game type at the start of a fixture.

Pointless rule change, we trying to get rid of defaults not create more.

As for match fixing we are playing an online pool game not the premier league.
If you play for a clan you should be prepared to play any player from the opposing clan.

I say leave it, does it really matter who plays who as long as games get played, also agree with James.
22:45 Tue 27 Mar 12 (BST) [Link] Loads more defaults right away.
Match-fixing is not a problem- if the opposing captain swaps players without reason, I would immediately do the same to reestablish the original fixture.
I don't think a change is necessary.

I understand that, but if that is the case then we might as well let the other teams see who has been picked to play from the clan(s) they are meant to play.
I don't get how it would cause more defaults though, take the FBL for example they had two defaults in first set with this rule, we had three with the rule we have. Technically not the best example but lets be honest here the FBL has had that rule for a while if i am correct? and every season they have less and less defaults.

its hard to match fix really, sure its easy for FBL as they can swap you into your weakest game mode but FCL its set in stone no matter who you play, anyone can play bad on the day, Seb last season vs dvz and vice versa this season and anyone can play good if they focus so i don't see the big picture.
22:50 Tue 27 Mar 12 (BST) [Link]
There is no big picture? I was posting a thought that was brought to my attention like i did with the last one on the last page.

Never has been a problem in any other season so why are we trying to create one that doesn't exist?
By restricting subs you are bound to increase defaults, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that out.
As for picking who plays against each player, i am more than happy to put my team list forward early and out to the other clan so they can match their players up as long as in the return fixture i get to do the same

22:53 Tue 27 Mar 12 (BST) [Link] Yes, you could and I wouldn't be against that lol. As long as no team can match up player for player.

You would expect you to say that though since MVP have most of the outstanding players on the site to date, so you wouldn't have a problem with others seeing your team list.
Your only restricting that subbed out player though, in return that player can only go back into the game they came out of. With the clan size at 16 you should have atleast eight reliable players for a game anyway.
It's clear the idea is not liked though but while we are here can anyone else think of a rule that needs changing or atleast needs tweaked?

Shown them their opponents list would mean they could match up player for player though . There is no way that is going to happen though

There would always be a potential 8 subs per game though so the rule change wouldnt really make much difference.
I wouldnt complain with a rule change and i wouldnt complain without it either. Both rules are plausable.
Perhaps introduce as some has suggested before a cap on subs until the second week? Gives players time to get games played before any possible match fixing.
I wouldn't agree to showing my teamsheet before a fixture release for another team to put forward all its best players. I think how it is done now is the best way
