The whole fun of 2 teams is the fact that they are interchangeable, Without that option it would be pointless having 2 teams.

True but the same best players will probably end up facing each other every fixture, will be fun for those and great to see but I'm thinking of Everyone tbh.

When are the fixtures out mate? So we can send in the team lists vs specific opponents.

I personally think they shouldn't be interchangeable, so each team has it's own identity. It would also stop any suspicious results coming in. I don't care either way though, as our two teams will act as separate entities, and no players will swap around. It may impact on results, but any success will be a far greater achievement.

I'm doing the exact same mate, 2 set teams, only the subs will be interchangeable. Gives everyone a chance to play, represent and contribute for their team.

We don't plan on our subs being interchangeable.

Oh ok, so you will have 2 set teams, with their own set of subs. Okay if you have like a 20 man squad lol.

Planned timetable is as below...

Super League IV

Please can clans wishing to take part this season post here - also indicating how many teams they are entering.

The number of entrants will decide the structure of the competition. At present it is looking like the top 4 from each group would qualify for the Play-Offs.

1. Uprising
2. Uprising Ultras
3. Snooker Squad
4. Phoenix Ashes
5. Phoenix Lightning
6. The Underdogs (team list provided)
7. The Professionals A
8. The Professionals B
9. Top Guns
10. Mighty Misfits

As far as the League is concerned A & B teams are interchangeable however no one player can play in both the A & B teams during the same fixture period. This gives Captains freedom to decide tactics. They can stick with two even teams, favour one team over the other or tactically switch players around to try and get both teams through at the expense of others.

Assuming there are sufficient numbers there will be two groups from which teams will compete to qualify for the play-offs. Where clans have an A & B team entered, one will be drawn in each group.

Each game will consist of 5 individual games of 12 racks (4 each of US8, US9 and UK8). One point per rack won and one point for any Run Out or Golden Break achieved.

There will also be one Killer game of 2 v 2. Points for each final position as follows - 1st 5pts, 2nd 3pts, 3rd 2pts and 4th 1pt.

At the end of the fixture the winning team gets 4pts and the losing team gets 0pts. The losing team will score one point if it achieves 25 or more in the overall fixture. If the fixture is a tie then both teams get 2pts each. Racks won and Event bonus points are only used to separate teams level in their league/group.

Season will commence on weekend of 28th/29th September.

Teams entering to be posted here and team lists to be submitted to me by Wednesday 25th and first fixtures will then be posted on Thursday 26th. Team lists for the first games will then be needed by Saturday 28th lunchtime for a release later that day.

Thanks

Two teams of eight - that's both teams having 3 subs each! I've never had to make more than 3 subs in any fixture, in any format!

I completely disagree, I was the captain of the B side of Latin Legends who played in the first season of super league and it worked because they weren't interchangeable. I would say its pointless not having one team if they're interchangeable. We ended up having the bare minimum because when we needed extra subs after losing a few players, the new players got signed for the A team who never made it through to the playoffs, whereas we finished 2nd in the league and went out of the semis only because we didn't have enough players. But I think that made each result more important and if we could have brought players in from the other team it would have completely ruined the whole thing.

I've done it with a 16 man squad which lost a few, and completed the league set without any defaults. And the only default happened because one team ended up with 2-3 in active players in a team of 7 and we played Eagles who were particularly difficult to get games done with 8 active players. It does work

Yeah fair enough mate, all stems down to players reliability, IF you can manage to do it with 16 players then that's wicked but being realistic maybe 18 might be a little on the safer side, 2 teams of 8 and 2 subs,

For me, the aim is still for 'the clan' as a whole to win the competition. This gives additional ways, and the freedom, to manage your resources to achieve that whilst at the same time removing (hopefully) the risk of unplayed/default games due to player shortage and availability.

Smaller clans and smaller numbers of games in fixtures would lead to more clans and more competition in leagues. Not sure whether that is seen as universally desirable though as there are some players who seem to view true and sustained competition as an alien concept at times.

For Cup, only thing i can think of is like Snooker where you have 1 frame of each type (8Arc, US, 9 Ball, UK, Straight, left 9Arc out as whoever breaks wins).
