Some people like to play minigolf, some killer, some the arcade games - so why aren't those in the individuals?

People are unlikely to complain about the individuals because it's optional, easier to just not bother than to complain.

Completion rates
Straight - 38.1%
8 uk - 58.8%
9 ball - 52.6%
8 us - 28.1%

despite straight having a significantly lower amount of participants, the only type with a lower completion rate is 8us (which has the most players)

Usually the individuals are filled, or are close to it, which isn't the case this season

EDIT - thats how things stand on the site, not sure if anything else has been played since the last update

anyway ill try and update the current individuals lol, done the base for it, colour coding and the formulas just need to do results and i can put it on the site.

i can't do it though if people are banging on about Straight as i tend to reply quickly

because people haven't asked for it i don't see how you can do a killer individuals lol.

well it not been in the formats played in the league for it to be added because people asked for it aint good enough we both can do this all day dgen

if people wana play straight in a league or cup format theres the EVENTS thread or they can get the FBL staff to create a STRAIGHT copetition as its in there format SIMPLES

I dont care if i aint forced to play it or not, this is a DISCUSSION thread is it not? so im here DISCUSSING my points for it not to be included as it aint got NOTHING to do with FCL.

just stop arguing a lost battle lol, only way it will be removed is if chris's idea is implemented, its already been implemented this season and been successful so it should stay.

The point is, as you don't have to play it, the only reason you would want it removed is to spite those of us who like it...

Edit: there is a subtle difference between the arcade games and straight. That being that straight is a different format, whereas the arcade games are dumbed down versions of existing games for people who find the already cavernous pockets just that bit too tight.

think you made your point therev lol and i do not disagree but its already in and we will not change fcl league games so surely there is no harm it being in the optional individuals league?

i guess we will just have to see what happens with it... chris/dgen are running it depending on which format is preferred.

if several people wanted it then yeah but its not all about one person. Straight was asked to be added by the top Straight players so techno added it.

I prefer the old format for it. Many people are mixed on Chris & James's ideas though, so out of the two of them i think i like Chris's one the most. Up to James though and what him and Chris can sort out

less than 40% of games being completed by 7 players is considered successful?
3 players have played 1 games
2 players have played 2 games
1 player has played 3 games
1 player has played 6 games (completed their games)

That is no where near successful in my opinion

However it is doing better than one of the sacred 3 games, so maybe that should be removed too

If it stays as the current format, I would remove it. It's clearly isn't working and none of us straight players can actually be bothered with it for this league

You can't say theres no harm in having it, because it lowers the numbers of the other competitions. A lot of the players in the straight league would've played in another league, bringing it's numbers up.

A competition between 7 players, where the current leader is the only person to play more than half their games (and has lost 5/6) isn't really a good competition, the winner would only be able to say that they were more reliable than the others, not that they were a better player

after i have updated (probably tomorrow at this rate as i have a snooker clan game to prepare for then i will send a message round clan threads.

but there would be 2 ways i would remove it next season -

- Chris's Idea is implemented
- If Straight doesn't get enough entries next season

but don't forget you have 3 months in the current individuals to play so your relaxed and then turn to last minute rushing (im the same) but with knockout tournament if chris's idea is implemented i am guessing it would be 1 week deadline per game and my idea would be 2 weeks per game but stricter deadlines = success

Maybe, though that league is more than twice the size. The average games played on the 8us league is around 4.5, whereas it is about 2.2 in the straight league

think that the game types in it should stay as they are

it should be a knockout league

people should want to play in it, therefore putting their name down to be included

James whats the plate idea again, i know it was mentioned before and its on the spreadsheet?

basically say you had.

bluenose vs dgen
damee vs ab
jem vs spoonie
seb vs horse

say results was -

B 3-2 D
D 4-1 A
J 0-5 S
S 2-3 H

so bluenose, damee, spoonie and horse would move into semi finals (main competition) and dgen, ab, jem, seb would move into a plate competition making it look like this

Semi Finals

bluenose vs damee
spoonie vs horse

Plate Semis

dgen vs ab
jem vs seb

basically a 2nd competition for the losers of round one
