I feel this needs to be looked at. League runners are here to make sure the league runs smoothly, give guidance when needed, and make sure people abide by the rules. I'm aware that any player can make a suggestion about rule changes, game play etc,but not only could these sometimes be overlooked (as it is pretty busy on here) , but the players don't have a say on the final decision that is made, which is going to affect them and their team.
Surely it would make sense, when major decisions such as team , rules and game changes are being made, the team players should have the right to vote on them. Not only would this stop any accusations of rules etc being changed to suit certain people,it would also mean that players can see for themselves the result of a poll, and fair enough there will probably be some people who may not be happy with the majority decision, but that would happen no matter what. It's the players vote though, and they should have as much right as any of us to vote .It just seems a lot fairer to me that players should have their input, and a choice to vote on major decisions which are going to affect them.
Just my opinion

^Well, considering what happened with the previous poll, I'm not sure it's a better way to handle things. The poll results were released and player(s) began to question the wording of the poll options, the validity of the results, and argued for 30 pages.
The easier option would be to cap this thread and let the runners make the decisions. If captains or players don't like the decisions, they can leave the league. They won't.
If captains or players want to challenge a decision or give input with possible improvements, they can message the runners.

What an idiot it's a league discussion thread if you don't like a league with one then leave the league...oh look works with you too.

My "Cap" comment was a temporary cap to the thread and allow the runners to enjoy the site aswell as do admin work. I feel it is ridiculous that they have to spend hours on this thread at a time.

Of course it does. But I'm not the one questioning the majority votes, am I?
But as has been mentioned before, this is just an event. Why do we need input from the participants (doesn't exist in any other event) when all it brings is massive arguments, insults, and work for moderators?
I also don't walk around calling you an idiot
classy as always.

Its the added on drivel that annoys me when a decision is made.

My post was in response to ipotalot by the way, in case there was any doubt.

You're an idiot seb because you come on to just stir up arguments again because you see the thread is quiet, everyone is being civil and has moved on and still you are trying to goad me into an argument.
You might come on with the pretence of being mr nice guy but it's totally transparent.
Move on unless you have something to say on league matters and if you want to dig at me practice what you preach and use personal message.
Last suggestion I made couple of hours ago got agreed to straight away with no hassle so why you feel the need to come on and dig I don't know.

Can I just get a clarification from the mods that we don't have to hide our insults anymore?
If it's a free-for-all where we can call each other idiots, please let me know.
Actually ipotalot, I posted in response to anoneemouse's suggestion that all important decisions should be put to a vote since that reduces arguments.
I then said that the last vote was immediately questioned by player(s) and led to dozens of pages in arguments. Yes, that is mostly referring to you, because quite frankly you were the only one questioning its wording and its outcome. Will you deny that too?
Considering you made what feels like 1/2 of the posts in the last 30-50 pages, it seems you're using this thread as a forum to vent your general frustration towards everything.
I think it's clear that without the discussion thread, there would be a lot fewer arguments. Why is that not a legitimate suggestion? It would, in my eyes, improve the clan league.

Again you are trying to carry on an argument that is long since gone, in case you haven't noticed i'm not biting.
The fact that sarah is a captain that never posts her opinions on here and you are a captain that always does constantly yet the one time she does give an opinion you suggest the thread should be capped is totally ridiculous.
Sorry for posting things honestly, much more classy to try and goad people into arguments using very thinly veiled insults apparently.
The thread has moved on a long time ago maybe it's you who needs capping seb.

its an event like no other get real !!!!!
extra work in getting it right has to be worth it, rules having clear meaning and loop holes closed cant be a bad thing, because afterall that is the main source of arugments as you call them... and clear rules seb are for all of us to follow if you know what i mean its called discussion and because people dont agree with everything you say dosnt mean you need to cap threads,, yours is one voice as is mine so let people have their say

10:26 Thu 5 Jan 12 (GMT) [Link] You'll find I suggested it well before that (yesterday I think) after ab had brought it up and several others supported it. That's in response to craig as well. This isn't only me talking.
Is it though? Let's look at our track records. Together with dgeneratio, I have run a very successful clan league over on snooker for the last 3-4 seasons. It currently has 96 participants that enjoy themselves. There have been a grand total of 10 posts on the discussion thread there, all of them related to a private argument between two players.
Clearly, I'm doing something right.
Your greatest accomplishment in that time is that you almost single-handedly moved the pool discussion thread along 50 pages. You even argued 10+ pages against a decision voted on by members.
Thanks for that. We appreciate your service to the league.
