heres what i might do then, up to 16 entries per type (8 US, 9 US, 8 UK and Straight)

basically 10-12 weeks in a season so.

1-2 week

Qualification Round (Winners go to Individuals Quarter Final, Losers go to Plate in that Game Mode)

3-4 Week

Individuals Quarter Final
Plate Quarter Final

5-7 Week

Individuals Semi Final
Plate Semi Final

7-10 Week

Individuals Final
Plate Final

something like that? all i would decide then if the frames in those modes

well thanks to the rules ive not played a league game for mounths now soo its <bad word> i say bring back the old format then give players like a last chance sorta thing

FCL Singles

i dont think there is much wrong with normal clan singles

would like them to come out as fixtures rather letting players decided when to play............ this cant be to difficult

its always the same when fixtures come out big clamour to get games played then bang someone gets most games played then no interest

i myself are struggling to get players to play now with 4 weeks of the season left to go

if there was official fixtures
even if it was one or 2 a week it would keep the interest and get more games played

it would be more competitive

i didnt ask them to "vote" its a league discussion thread, i had an idea about individuals so i posted it

Individuals

Example - 58 people enter

6 groups of 7 players and 2 groups of 8 players.

or

10 groups of 4 players and 6 groups of 3 players.

These figures can easily be tweaked depending on number of entrants.

Everyone plays everyone in their group, 2 points for a win.

Top 2 players from each group qualify.

Then it is straight knockout till the final.

Option A = 16 players in knockout
Option B = 32 players in knockout

Format to make it different from league games and shorter, 3 games of US8, US9 and UK8 so always a winner. Keep same game types as current FCL.

Could increase game numbers later on in the tournament if people wanted this or not depending on preference.


Yes i agree individuals needs changed as you lose interest after the first couple of weeks.

true but i was just thinking of a single fixture for qualification round so everyone will be in the first 2 fixtures whatever the outcome then from Plate and Individuals Quarter Finals thats when people are eliminated and play to a winner people then can still choose their preferred game mode.

Alternately you could have it same as snooker where its a straight knockout tournament that way you could have unlimited entries

either way in individuals if you get to point where someone cannot come back to win then the opponent behind can choose to stop if they wish

Another idea for individuals...

Enter everyone who is registered in a clan at the start of the season into a straight knockout cup competition. Open draws in each round.

Match winners and any byes progress to next round. Where two players do not play by the deadline both are eliminated however both players have the option to request a default score/ruling to decide if either is allowed to progress to the next round.

In the early rounds I would anticipate a fair number of double DQ's or default winners but clearly the longer it goes on the more you get people who are committed to playing.

Thats the beauty - you have the choice if you want to play or not - if you choose not to you just get DQ'd and the competition carries on.

but why should you be DQ if you don't want to be in it, could just leave them out of the competition so in essence same as this idea:

that way people who want to be in can be and those who don't are left out.

if the snooker version goes ahead frames will be 3 of US, UK and 9 Ball

if its zantes idea goes ahead then ill stick at 5 frames (3 for Straight)

Its easier to enter everyone and let them decide whether they want to play or not than have to wait for up to 180 players to post an expression of interest.

Plus the nature of many on here is that they wont post to take part but would play if given a fixture. Also you might think you dont want to take part then change your mind.

Can't actually see any downside to doing it that way at all - particularly your point of why should you be DQ'd if you dont want to be in it. If you dont want to be in it you wont care what happens surely.

Edit - I would concede your point that if anyone expressed a wish not to be entered then they wouldnt be. That would be easy to manage too.

fair enough, i don't really mind, only problem is i don't think half of them check the forum.

if its chris's idea what goes ahead we would need 5 rounds plus the Quarters, Semis and Final.

for it to work you would need a 1 week deadline for each Round until the Semis then 2 week deadline for Semis and Final.

frames could be...

1 week deadline - 1st to 3 in each
2 week deadline - 1st to 5 in each



the snooker idea is the least amount of updating, chris's is the second (due to more players) and zantes requires the most. out of them all i like zantes as you can play in your game mode what you like and includes Straight but overall i don't mind which one is selected.

just the same as the fa cup just the one game knock out sounds really good gives every body the chance to win it
just put they names in the hat if they don't play DQ its so simple to run as well
