only thing they haven't done far as i can see is contact a league runner about naming but if their captain gave permission as you pointed out and in writing of course then they should be allowed to name a player.

Swapping, both captains don't have to.
Experience, one season is the required amount. As far back as I can remember, back to when pot_the_lot was in charge, previous usernames have always been taken into account for the 1 season experience.
Naming, same with the previous post. I remember when I was first setting up Cobras I had a similar situation, at that time I went to the captain of the other clan asked for his permission, which he granted to me, then I went to the league runner at the time (pot_the_lot) and she gave me permission to as well so at that stage I was clear to name the player.
Sadly I've not heard of one captain doing this recently, they all seem to want to do it their own way.

horse never even listed our team, he just edited it for it to be read easier etc.
Only named us four running the clan and permission from Ant, but we still get a warning.

What a silly rule a final warning for naming players that a clan captain has allowed to be named o dear.

Need to apply a little common sense and most of the time you can tell pretty quickly
Same concept isn't it? so why not apply common sense to it all
The naming rule was brought in for the sake of the captain of the clan the named/unnamed player was moving from, so if they give permission then shouldn't that be the same as if the captain giving permission had named them as moving on?
Wouldn't common sense dictate that if they hadn't got permission, the captain would've said something? Seems obvious to me :S I don't know if that isn't actually as obvious to others is it?

In the past, experience has meant on a current name - because it can be impossible to say with 100% certainty that a new account is the same person they are claiming to be when the old account is gone - even when the person is bellieved to be the same person who has experience, but the rule is in place to stop people without experience captaining a clan which they don't fully understand how to - if it is clear that a person can cope and knows what they are doing, then i don't see a problem allowing them to
I know that Steph didn't take previous usernames into account at least once

Considering you've already named two you'll be on a warning just like the other clans. As there was no visible evidence from their captain giving permission to be named
20:06 Mon 15 Aug 11 (BST) [Link] It's the third one. At least it's being applied to everyone equally.
zante- As far as I know, it's not about the permission. You can't name them, period. There are no exceptions in the rules. Since they won't change rules until the end of the season, we're stuck with the current ones.

Our warning was not specifically for one person. It was for naming players in another clan, especially since permission doesn't change things.

As I've said before, they've all been warned. Hopefully they won't commit the same offence again and will be a bit more careful when naming players.
That's that!
For those wondering what the exact warnings were for, here they are:
Chips 'n Gravy - naming davybaumers (Cobras) in a team list.
MVP - naming joker86 and bunrzybhoy (both Top Dogs) as members of the clan.
Snooker Squad - naming dgeneratio and virtuoso1978 (both Untouchables) in a fixture.

MVP - naming joker86 and bunrzybhoy ; So MVP aren't allowed to name the vice-captains not 'members' of the clan?

If everyone was to do the same, what's preventing clans from having 7 vice-captains and using that as an excuse to name their half their team?
20:22 Mon 15 Aug 11 (BST) [Link]
Well you can tell who is a vice and who isn't fairly quickly i would think, and you can limit the amount of VC's a clan has

Seb's asked for clarification on this:
If the captain has explicitly posted on a thread saying his players are free to be named then the clan wishing to acquire these players for the following season is within their right to name these players.

^ see the top post, kev's quote describes an exception to the rules that was made - even though it doesn't say anywhere about needing permission from the league runner in the rules

There isn't currently a limit on the amount of vice-captains a clan may have.

So now Ant can post on MVP thread saying we are free to be named as vices, and the warning is invalid for ourselves.

If it's part of the rules, where does it say this though?
Also... is it possible when Dgen has time for the rules to be placed on the backup site (I couldn't see them on there and i don't know if it is still possible without Kenny's site being up)

No, the warning will still stand.
You will just be able to name Top Dogs players from that time on
