It was more fun when years ago you would get like 102 entrants for 8 ball uk and now it's only like around 30 max

Keep saying it all you want it's nothing to do with the point if people aren't playing them then they shouldn't be in the schedule?

does it matter seriously?
like i keep saying its a friendly, you dont win anything, you dont even get a profile stat for it.

8 ball friendly - 19.30
7 people entered, 1 person DQ, this could have been something like a 8 ball ranked!!!

After looking at all this I don't get why this site has all these tournaments! Just look at snooker, constantly has 50% more users online, yet has a hell of a lot less tournys than over here.
It seems tournaments on both sites need a good looking at.

He wanted it to be so people would only have to wait 30 mins max for a tournament and to accomodate the arcade versions.
The ranked tourneys still get decent numbers, 32 in the 9 ball going at the moment.

I think theres far to many tournaments on pool now, when there was just one tournament on the hour you had lots more people entering and it was a great achievement when you won, it put a smile on your face, well it did mine lol, now we have 3/4 every hour with less people entering each one which makes it easier to win and just another win on your stats, not as great an achievement.
I would like to see rank tournaments stay on the hour and friendly tournaments on the half pasts, that way people that get knocked out early from the ranked can play in the friendly untill the next ranked one, sorry but I just don't get the micro tournaments, I've seen some with 3/4 entrants, I would do away with them and just have the ranked on the hour and friendly on the half past, hopefully that would help get more people entering and get back to smiley faces when you achieve the win instead of it just being another stat on your profile.
Just My Thoughts

I totally agree with ab_rfc, each ranked tournament on the hour was a tough and exciting challenge as many people entered, and whoever won would of had to play well and win a lot of matches and be a deserved winner. So people who have a lot of tournament wins on their profile would be seen as a good player. With micros, I saw a tournament with 1 person in it, so they won without playing a match. I don't see a problem with friendly tournaments being on, but I wouldn't join them, and just play a few normal ranked matches between ranked tournaments.

But you don't get a stat on your profile for micro tourney wins, so what's the problem with them? They are mainly full of people who have been knocked out of the main tourneys.

Too many tournys on with micros, they can just play normal ranked matches.

"It's been requested a lot, so I'm looking to add friendlies and micros to profiles as new columns within profiles as it is obviously an interesting stat, but it wont have leaderboards for this".
This is the comment from Nick!

I agree with the above. The micros are not doing much and you get very little from entering a micro, even if you win (a few ranking points and a handful of TournaPoints)...you might as well have played some ranked games.
While having tournaments quite often looks and seems like a good idea, it definitely does pull down the prestiege and honour of winning a tournament.
However there will always be two major opposing sides to this debate: Having tournaments spaced out to have as many entrants and to keep the prestiege and; having very regular tournaments so everyone has a shot at winning one.
I agree with Ab in that we should have a friendly tournament on the half hour and a standard tournament on the hour.
Micros are good if you are short on time or are busy doing other things on the computer, but I think when it comes to tournaments, less is more.

And we also have speed tournaments.
In my opinion, if you don't have enough time to play in a speed tournament, then you shouldn't spend your short time playing in any tournament.
I think we should abolish the micro tournament, have the standard tournament at the top of the hour and alternate between a friendly tournament and a speed tournament at half past the hour.

What are you on about?
Get rid of the really popular micros that fill up in seconds and alternate with more friendlies that we've all seen nobody wants to play?!?!
I don't play regular ranked games and if I log on and don't like the tourney starting on the hour I can play an 8 ball and a UK or 9 ball till the next tourney, micros were always really good when i was just learning.
I don't play arcade or straight tourneys either with that set up people would be waiting 4/5 hours for a tournament they actually wanted to play.
