Going back some years it does seem that the amount of people entering tournaments has declined, perhaps this will make the numbers rise, and me start playing again. :P

It's getting kind of boring actually. I play tournies then maybe go out in 1st or 2nd round on a very bad day and then iv got nothing to play, pointless playing rank as i just lose it when i play tournies. Before this was introduced i would play some ranked or friendlies but now there is no friends i want to play on and im out of the tourny and i aint gonna play for rank when in a way its taken unfairly.

Could there be any solution to this as it's actually making me think about not even bothering to come on as much.

Now would be a good time to put more tournies in thinking about it.

Prime example, either the points awarded needs an ajustment or the virtuoso for 900, pro 800 needs changing if either possible?

Same thing has just happened to me:

Gained 40.9 with one win.

Now how is my current rank greater than the maximum rank I have obtained?

Thats just because you maximum hadn't been refreshed when the profile page was created. Perfectly normal, if a bit strange when you see it at first

When I came back on though, my rank went back to 746.6 before the tournament I have just played?

i agree with the players who want the old ways back . we should go back to were the rankings was 2 months ago its not fair on the newbies or adapts got to suffer for this its the pro's who got to work hard to keep pro 2 months ago say i waz on 750 and a pro waz on 850 i would least got 4.0 or 5.0 points winning on a normal game i agree with

This isn't strictly to do with this change, *possibly* you would have gained 0.2 on the old system, but let's not worry over possibility of a tenth of a ranking point.

More protection against newbies was added in a previous patch, and is pretty much considered a good move:
