Thirdly the fact that bonus points are awarded for wins regardless of the margin clearly places the emphasis on winning individual games. Therefore I can't see any reason why that should not have been as reasonable a first 'tie breaker' in a drawn game as any other.

because it has already been used, effectively making it rewarded twice

score was 31-29, with bonuses for individual wins its 33-33, with individual wins as a tie break its 33-33 but one side wins

would be like an fpl tie-break being whoever got the most runouts, gb's etc (bonus points) in the fixture,

or to compare it to something else, would be like a football league being tie-breaked by who has won the most games instead of goal difference, goals for.... etc

Sorry, but it is just ridiculous

You are treating the bonus points and the rack points as separate entities when they are not.

They both go together to give a team total for a fixture as they have done in every conference and cup match for three months.

Where those scores are level, why is it any less fair for a team that has two players that win matches compared to the opponents that only have one, to win overall?

I am not saying it is any more fair but it is certainly not any less fair than any other tie-breaker, and the fact remains the rule was in place from day one, potentially known to everyone and not questioned at all.

Feel free to petition for a change going forward.

Cup has been awarded to cobras now cant take it away once been awarded to them imo as that is harsh would like to see rules changed in future that it would go to a play off would be a better way to win and lose

Quite the opposite I would have said. A situation arose and there was a rule in place from the start that covered it and was applied.

Thanks very much to everyone for a fantastic effort in getting games played that left very few for default.

Of those that did go to default, none ultimately had the potential for any impact on the final positions for all teams in both Conferences. On that basis, and in the interests of moving the CPL on, the default scores have already been applied on the basic information available.

Cobras & Nutters qualify from the UKPC and Sharpshooters and Unbeatables qualify from WPC. Congratulations to them and another huge thanks to all the remaining teams who took part enthusiastically.

Sorry, maybe it hasnt failed, but there are certain aspects of the CPL that has failed, and as the view point of a nutter, i am obviously not happy with the outcome of the CPL CUP final.

Understandably so - however where a rule was written for a situation it has been applied.

As said before, no problem in discussing other options going forward.

4 racks of each game type plus two bonus points for a win

Deadline is Midnight (UK) on 22nd January

As there was no written rule previously in place to cover drawn 7 vs 7 play-off matches, and to save disputes since it was therefore bound to arise in that case , the following will apply (and have been added to the rules on the site)

10 Play-Off games

10.2 Draws

Where a match finishes in an overall draw the winner will be decided in the order of the folllowing 'tie-breakers'

1. A full length play-off of 4 racks of each game type between one selected player from each team (from the 7 players who actually completed the fixture)

2 If still level then a one rack play-off in US8 Ball will decide the winner. This rack will be between the same two players who play in the full length play-off (at 1. above)

Any questions regarding this rule please ask - but earlier rather than later!!
