Just got back from Belgium today, and the first text I read says 4-1, couldn't help but laugh

Awful decision from the referee/linesman, a clear goal. Still, it's all England deserve after claiming their group would be a walk in the park, and yet finishing in 2nd place behind USA, meaning they had to play the Germans.

I have money on the Germans to win the World Cup with my mates (they've gone Brazil, Spain and England), but unfortunately good results are always followed by crap ones, so I expect Argentina to knock them out in the quarters

And video technology should definitely be used. It works in tennis and rugby, why not football?

Anyway, 4-1. England's going home, their going home...

I went on a plane. The plane went in the air not long after Germany vs England started. They did not have a TV on the plane. I was not allowed to use my mobile phone on the plane.

When the plane was back on the ground I turned on my phone. Someone had sent me a text saying Germany had won 4-1.

Do you understand now?

Come on guys lets stop hating on people from other countries now, we're english and proud of it, we'll always fully support our team no matter what.

Lets leave the "haters" to carry on having a go at us as usual. I have never and will never put down another countries football team, I stood up for the Irish for the hand ball from Henry, I'd do the same for the Scots, Welsh, Spanish, Argies etc etc, shame when it comes to england though we constantly get berated, it sucks, but it shows in itself that we are in fact a strong team and an even stronger nation because you people come at us with your sarky comments when we do lose.

I could have turned on Andy Murray, when he snubbed the tag of being British, but I didn't, I hope he does his best, thats all I and he can ask for.

Cheers to all the haters of the England national football team, and ask yourself, How many of the players from the nations that you support, play in our league, there's a reason why.

P.S. also take into consideration, how many players from your favourite teams, actually play in your own countries leagues, then look at ours, there isn't ONE person, that went to the world cup, in the England team who doesn't play outside of England. That's loyalty for you!

But we need to have more English players playing at the top level, for the big four, remember when it was just the big four teams plus the odd other player from different clubs at one stage.

And if you look at Italy, only ONE player from the top 2 clubs last season and none from the champions, Inter. May explain their decline in the World Cup.

To have English players though, we need to put a cap on the % of foreign players that can play in the premiership, for example, in 2006, Italy's league was 80% full of Italian players, they managed to go the full distance and win the tournament because they had a ton of players to choose from.

Whereas I'd be suprised if we have a 10% english league, which isn't enough to nuture up and coming youths, we don't have enough English players in our league, this is why we struggle to have world class players all around the pitch and instead we play world class players out of position (Gerrard). To move forward we need to say goodbye to a few foreigners and hello to new English blood, that would help us a hell of a lot more.

Instead we bring in players from nationalitys all around the world and do them a favour by nurturing their players. I mean no-one here can tell me that the Irish, Welsh, to some extent Scottish, etc etc, would have a better team if they played in thei own countries leagues.

I think it's more a question of money than loyalty. Scottish football has no money, that's why we can't keep our best home-grown talent. They all go to England or further afield because they can get more money and also because their leagues are better.

At the end of the day, money talks.

And that may also be the reason why we don't do well in World Cups, players get paid too much, think, this is an easy life and just take liberties.

I would also point out the foreign coach. You look at the top nations in the world, how many have a foreign coach? Not many if any. Even Scotland have a Scottish coach.
