will there be a second one when this is finished?

Emmmmmmm, no plans to as such, but we'll see what interest there is. The next Irish Cup I have in mind is killer, although I don't know yet when I'll be doing that, but hopefully it'll be soon now that this form has gone quiet and because this tournament will be over very quickly.

Right, change of plan... Berba has intimated that he will be unable to compete. Instead, invitations have been extended to 007jb1 and _niall_ to play a semi-final with me. If both accept, we'll have a 3-man semi-final with a different format than as if it were only 2 players.

007jb1 has entered as well, meaning that we will have a three-man semi-final to decide which player will play _gerard_ in the final. It'll be me versus _niall_ vs 007jb1, and here's how the semi will work.
There will be three rounds.
- If one player wins 2 rounds, that player wins. If a player wins the first two rounds, there will be no need for a third round.
- If two players win one round each and the other round ends in a tie, then A) if it is those two players who have tied, they will go into a play-off; B) if it is the third player who has tied with one of the two round winners, that player will go through (because they beat the other player in that round).
- If all three players win one round each, the winner is the one with most second place finishes (includes ties for second place). If they are level on this, then all three go into a play-off.

Example on request
- If all three players win one round each, the winner is the one with most second place finishes (includes ties for second place). If they are level on this, then all three go into a play-off.
It gets messy after that.
- If a player (Player A) wins 1 round but finishes in outright last place in the other two rounds, AND those two rounds finished tied (between Players B and C), then Player A is eliminated (because he has definitely lost 2 rounds against each of the other players) and Players B and C are decided by their result against each other in the round that Player A won. Otherwise, they enter a play-off.
And that does NOT cover all possibilities. Let's hope they don't come up, eh!

Play-offs are held on a round-by-round basis. If there is a three-way play-off and one player finishes in outright 3rd placed and the others tie, that 3rd-placed player is eliminated and the other two begin another play-off round.
It is a mess. But the important thing is to win as many rounds as possible, eh! Good luck all.
Result:
son 15 - 15 _gerard_
son 16 - 15 _gerard_
Winner: _gerard_
To be played: clooneman vs 007jb1 vs _niall_

cloon would you not do it as simple as the score out of 3 games e.g
player A gets 19 17 14 = -10
player B gets 12 21 18 = -9
player C gets 13 19 17 = -11
then player C wins (simple)
player A gets 19 17 14 = -10
player B gets 12 21 18 = -9
player C gets 13 19 17 = -11
then player C wins (simple)
