I know naming and shaming isn't really appropriate, but in this case it shouldn't be, but I will not name and shame anyways.

I was playing two US 8 Ball ranked games, and in:
Game 1: I was on the black and he PM'ed me, causing me to foul and for him to tap the black in to win;
Game 2: It was my shot and I had a few balls left in easy positions to clear up and he was on the black. Once again he PM'ed and he tapped the black in to win again.

I think that is cheating. Does anyone else?

Please, could a Moderator or Admin deal with this situation.

wel the easy solution to this problem would be to click on his name and presss the ignore user butoon

I have something like that Stew mate, I now ignore PM's .
The thing is but, he could'nt beat me fairly, he had to cheat to win. .

Yes, that is considered cheating, but Stew also has a point. If you don't want people messaging you while you're playing...then ignore them

First things first expect your post to be edited because it clearly is naming and shaming! But also I do agree with you it's a desperate attempt to stay in the game if the player you play is known for it just block pm.

simple solution

take a screen shot of the pm he/she has sent

send it to admin

get them banned

cheaters................or are they..........i have had similar clashes with "pro's" who will deliberately foul (again cheating) but this is classed as acceptable by the "in" crowd!!!

problem with this game is there are too many ppl who will use the slight flaws to their advantage.....i just dont play them.

Deliberately fouling is not cheating... It is playing the game to your best ability. People argue 3 fouls in 9 ball is like cheating but again if you can do it then do so.

rules of pool are that if you deliberately foul, the game is handed to your opponent - just like snooker....but because a computer can't differentiate between deliberate and non deliberate then ppl abuse it

i don't think it will, he hasn't named any name or anything, the best solution is block PM's.

And deliberate fouling isn't cheating, personally!

If you have the ability to foul without your opponent gaining an advantage then go for it

what is wrong with naming and shaming,dont they deserved it,why protect them,i can never understand that.its like when players get banned,no one can tell you anything about it,its all hush hush like its a communist state.just tell us and it will send out a message to us all on how not to behave.

Well it's certainly not a democracy around here...

First things first. You can block PMs as mentioned, you can also send a complaint. I fail to see what else can be done. You as the member are given every opportunity to see this doesn't happen.

RE Sending complaints: SCREEN SHOTS will not be accepted as a vaild complaint. There is a box in the PM window with the complaint button on it, click it, it's all very simple after that.

Naming and shaming is fine, so long as the people doing the naming and shaming are fine, upstanding pillars of the community. However the problem here is that everyone would take advantage and 'name and shame' people who perhaps don't deserve it. How would that be fair?? It'd create a helluva lot more work for Admins and Mods too!


Lets not discuss is professional fouling fair or not, plenty of other threads for that. Feel free to post your opinions on them!

What I fail to see is if he cheated the first time, why not quit there and then?

It's obviously a habit if he can do it so openly in the first game, and if you disapprove of such behavior, then boycott him!

Before anyone questions why screenshots aint allowed. Well its because they can easily be editied, while sending a complaint can't be edited.

Hate it when it does happen though, but when someone does it put them on ignore straight away, so they can't do it to you again. Or have a moan at them like i would even though it doesn't make 1 bit of difference

I had this happen to me was in a tourny was bout to beat x and he opens a chat box and goes ggs wp i cant ype in game window and he left b4 i potted the 9 so i didnt get win i got it by default that does my head in.

And it was a gd player too no newbie

Why complain about someone saying GG before its over (whether in pm or not) then go and do it yourself?

Thats why i put whether in pm or not, meaning yours was not in pm yet still said gg wp in game window befor it was over
