Been playing for an hour or two today.

Good game

Saw the part where you fight a gigantic spider after you go to see where Jill is. SCARY!

After Resident Evil 4 I vowed never to touch another resident evil game. It scared the living day lights out of me!



I'll stick to the final fantasies instead...

Just finished it on Normal difficulty, Veteran next (I had to quit half way through my veteran game originally )

Then professional difficulty awaits me

Just started my own game under my profile on Amateur and it took me like 40 minutes to find one locked door.

Yea i hate the puzzle side of resident evil....find it very confusing,the older games where the hardest and the best....5 got way to much hype on it!

I actually really like it. It sucked that it took so much time, but I really appreciate the fact that you have to use your mind to defeat enemies as well as just your gun (or knife).

It took me forever to figure out how to kill the chainsaw guy in the beginning! 4 tries and a handful of incendiary grenades later, I finally realized that only a shotgun can kill him.

I'm pretty sure you can use anything to kill him, you have to deal a certain amount of damage to him and he will stumble, you can then run up to him and melee attack him. (The square button on the playstation, X on XBOX?)

(If you're lucky the AI (Sheva) will then run and melee him as well - but this isn't necessary)

A few of these will kill him


EDIT: The shotgun is still the best weapon against him though, until you get a Magnum

What I meant was, it's faster to use a shotgun. Otherwise, you'll have to retreat to avoid being hacked to death (CHRIIIIISSS!) and when you turn around, more villagers are coming after you!

I'm in the mines now, but I stopped until my bf or cousin will play as Sheva. I don't like going in there alone (it's dark!), and I've done everything by myself until this point.

Yeah I need my brother to help me on Veteran, Sheva just runs off and dies all the time

We have to borrow an extra pad from one of his mates though, we only have one

It gets me angry, because my Sheva only uses her pistol! I gave her a shotgun and machine gun but the only time she uses them is when she's out of ammo for the pistol. That might be because I'm not doing a setting right, though. Is there a way to tell her to use a certain weapon?

Umm, she will usually use her pistol in 'cover mode' and if you set her to attack mode she usually uses her better weapons, and kills a lot more things :)

(Hold circle and press up on the d-pad - for the PS3 anyway, Chris will shout "Go!" and Sheva should then go into attack mode.)

It's then cirlce and down to put her back in cover.
