It affects the way your mouses activates the cue's movement: when activated, the cue moves slower. This can help if you are experiencing lag, having your cue "jumping" or not shooting at the power you intended.

That's not a new feature, though.

However...I use the classic cursor with only the crosshairs and I literally cannot pot a ball now...Its a bit of a lottery now whether the ball pots or not....is the cursor off?

I have one question wheres the x joins room x leaves room gone i liked it when it told u someone had entered ur game room or tourny room.

I can't seem to hit soft shots anymore. The white ball just runs off even on the softest shot. Anyone else having this problem?

No its nowt to do with Suppress entry/exit messages thats ticked in my settings.

Yes, that is what suppress (hide) entry / exit does. Uncheck it.

The game is much poorer for its 'improvements'.

Potting is a lottery - well aimed balls just don't go in.

Also - on too many occasions to note the cue ball has missed balls directly aimed at. sometimes even appearing to swerve around a ball.

I've now lost a good few games because of the random nature of these occurences - no fun anymore.

Pity

The physics have not changed in any way, in fact any change to underlying gameplay would constitute a bug. No one else on the site has reported any problems with the physics.

The only change that could cause perceived change in physics would be the new cursor, if you are having a problem with this cursor simply restore the original one back via options, then game.

Nick - there is still no way the old style cursor is set exactly the same as it was before the update yesterday.....

.... and I would love to be able to migrate to the ghost ball cursor but whilst it has shading effect on it my eyesight will not cope it with it properly

I'm with Chris on this one, I was playing _n_e_r_d_ earlier and it was really noticeable, I missed a few shots I would never have missed before, and I'm convinced I had them lined up right.

Im still getting use to "ghost ball" i dont want to give up on it, i love the concept that it brings, its an upgrade of a circle and a cross hair which is in the right direction....

Yep i do have to agree the old cursor is off, does have it randomness i feel.

I'm puzzled why the cursor is considered different. The code and image file is now identical. I just tested the 2 side by side at various resolutions for a number of shots and they were indistinguishable.

It's possible that it's psychological caused by the changes yesterday and by trying the ghost ball.

Those who are having a problem can you tell me your screen resolution?

If the old cursor can't be corrected I will remove it completely and have another option or two for the ghost ball (eg brighter, less/more translucent).

Yeah its psychological, must be The cursor today is different to the one yesterday and is back to normal as far as I'm concerned.
