Myabe if everyone started with say 50 tournament points and it cost everone 5 points to enter.

Then the winner say gets 20 points, 2nd gets 15, semis set 10, quarter finals get 5 points.

And if you run out pf points, then a 20 point reffund should happen.

Call them TourPoints or something lol

Although it'd probably work, it's probably just best to keep the tournaments as they are - it isn't broken, we shouldn't try to fix it.

I too would like to see something added/changed about the tournaments, because in my opinion they always seem the same. I like the way there's variation between the formats, marathon and speed tournaments, but when you enter tournaments on a regular basis, it becomes a little routine.

What I'd like to see is maybe a special one off tournament every month or week just to 'spice' it up a little. (I know there could be issues with time zones, but that could be sorted later.) Possibly a tournament using all three main game types. (I know that's been mentioned many times before)

And the special tournaments could be changed every now and then, so that they themselves don't become routine.

yeah, even mega marathons, random game types, funny colour tables (pink, rainbow, a flag of a country)....jazzing it up a bit would be nice.

Yeah a Random Tournament would be good, with random game types and random scores you would have to reach, so it could be first to three in the first round, first to one next round. That would keep people on their toes.

Probably not the easiest thing to set up, but it would be nice.

LOL I didnt word that very well. Should have been "win" instead of "reached", but it could easily be expanded a little to reward for reaching a quarter too.

However, i'm sure there are many other possibilities for spicing things up.


Regarding special tournaments, these have been trialed in the form of reverse tournaments ( http://www.funkypool.com/viewTopic.do?topicid=11442 ) which proved quite popular, however with the additions of new game types etc, there are only so many hours in a day to fit them in.

Maybe selecting a few slots per week, at varying times so everyone gets a shot, for "special" tournaments would be good?

I'd be in favour of calling all these "random" or "special event", meaning they could be marathon, speed, reverse, multi-discipline, ranked, or any combination of those.

Just out of interest spinner (or anyone else who knows) who ended up winning that reverse tournament?
