Don't you think that there are a lack of moderators online at the moment. This isn't a criticism just a pondering. I find many moderators are very 'inactive' as of late.
Regular such as katie_bug and adidas are nowhere to be seen now and ace75 isn't on nor is cityfan84 and quick_pot doesn't come on. Others such as ilovalanis, the_goonies, fastboysam and dr_lovepumup are on very little at all as are lemmie and steve87.
Surely more thought and consideration needs taking when appointing moderators. Moderators like janmb and spinner and brilliant but many haven't logged on in what seems like an eternity. Surely a reshape of the staff should take place as there are people like madmike and sporting amongst others who are frequently on and could patrol the forums better.
I also told Lisa (the_goonies) about an inappropriate picture and it hasn't been altered. :/
Feedback appreciated

I agree, though i have always thought this. But life changes, for example if i was made mod over the summer i would have been on loads, but now uni has started i wouldn't be. It could be the same for some of these people.
Though i think madmike should be made a mod purley for everything he has done for clans and getting a competition going. And he should mod the clan forum.

Well thats ok if you are at uni and stuff but then things need to be remodelled especially at the moment, it is, in my opinion dire, like 75% of mods aren't on anymore

Dont forget they have families and also jobs to do, which have to take priority.
Maybe they are on when you are not making it seem like there is little moderator attendance.
The moderators are well placed too, having people from the southern hemisphere, them across the pond in the U S of A as well as the UK possey.
Although it does seem sometimes that either there are bnone or loads, they do pop in and do what they can...trust me, it can be an annoying but rewarding voluntary job sometimes

Ahh the voice of reason, im not shocked by the contradiction, and I understand that but those previously stated are NEVER on.

At the end of the day, i dont think ciaran was on about why they are not online, maybe in a nutshell, because there are not many online, make people who are a 'tad' more regular to the site then the ones that are now?
IMO.

I think the system would benefit by changing from a self application to a nomination one.
Most people have firm views on who would make a good mod/admin.
They should be able to nominate these people to admin for them to review and evaluate. Admin can then invite people to take up the 'posts' accordingly. For example 2 people have mentioned mmt here (and i wouldnt disagree) - also from what i have read other suitables are people like pot_the_lot, sporting etc

I just think MMT has done alot for clans, imo its the first league that has ever taken off, and he should be allowed to moderate the clan forum and keep everything in check ect ect... As for other people, i really can't say.

Yeah, I'll give you feedback. That's a name and shame you've posted. Get off mods backs. They're not paid so don't starting posting who you think isn't doing enough for free. And how do you know what consideration went into it? You moan about inactive mods, but they cant be active all the time, so the more of them the better. What would you do - get rid of all the inactive ones so they can't help out when they are the ones with time to come on? I agree madmike and sporting would make good mods but thats between them and Nick and nothing to do with you. You want to pay for the site and pay for mods, then you start saying who should come on when.

It's not about the amount of time a person is on, but what they do when they're here.
As for the mods mentioned, they have their own individual reasons for not being able to make it online at the moment. I'm sure when their situation has changed they'll be on more, would it be then fair to demote them on the basis of not being able to be online for a little while?
And nominations would never work. It'd be more of a who likes who thing, rather than who'd make a good mod. And just cause a group of people think that a certain someone would make a good mod, doesn't mean they will.

Remember moderators are volunteers and have no minimum amount to do.
Also we don't have a set number of moderators so there is no real need to remove a moderator to make space for a new staff member.
Voting isn't really a viable option as it's too easy to manipulate.
Besides the website does not require 100% moderation, all members have the ability to moderate themselves. All complaints sent are processed and we block or ban members appropriately. It's not as good as real time moderation but it works.

Woah easy there, I am not having a go, all the mods have or are doing a great job I just think we need more 'active' players on! I didn't mean to cause an arguement, so relax.
I am trying to make the game a better place not to cause conflict.

Thats where the admin evaluation of the nominations would come in
