Can't stop replaying that moment over and over in my head. The linesman had to have seen the handball, he was directly in line with the play. Not only that, it was blatantly offside too. FIFA really would do anything to get the big nations there, we've been cheated twice and there's no way whatsoever that France deserve to be there instead of us. Big teams will always get big decisions, cheating the "smaller" teams Why video replays have not been brought into football by now for moments like that, I have no idea.

9 of the top 10 current ranked teams in the cup.
13 out of the top 15 countries in the world cup.
23 of the top 32 countries in the cup.
Lowest ranked qualified team is New Zealand ranked 83rd - but lets see what they can do before writing them off

Australia aren't Asian! That's for stealing the only thing I added to this thread - typing out who was in the World Cup
Ireland were very hard done by. Just shows why the sport needs Video evidence, or at least extra referees, like those we see in the Europa League now. You just have to wonder why Football doesn't take the sensible route like Rugby did.
Should be a great World Cup. I'll be rooting for Spain and the underdogs seeing as Belgium and Scotland aren't there. Allez Spain, New Zealand, North Korea, Slovenia, Slovakia, Algeria and Honduras!

The FAI have filed a scathing complaint to FIFA, demanding some sort of justice. They are demanding that the game be replayed, and that there is sufficient precedent for this to happen. Personally, I think we need to let bygones be bygones. Having said that, I wouldn't say no to playing them again...fat chance though. Trappatoni was close to tears in his interview a few minutes ago, shows how much it means to him and everyone else over here.

Because if we had video evidence France may not have gone through who are a big team, so FIFA would not make as much money. It's all about money with football now.
It's the same with English clubs, you see players like Edwardo and N'gog get away with cheating but you never see decisions go that way for lesser clubs in the league, especially the ones at the bottom.
Ireland were robbed but a rematch is not the answer. It's just how football works, never been any different.

Ireland might be getting a re-match as the FAI(Football Association of Ireland) have written to the FFF(French Football Federation) about the incident. Was on Sky Sports News. I hope they getting the re-match and beat France at the Stade de Fraud. Woops, I mean Stade de France.

12:38 Thu 19 Nov 09 (GMT) [Link]
Yeah, that should happen. Can Henry not get suspended or anything for that incident?

im unsure on that, rightfully he should be, but due to the ref now being off the pitch, there isnt a way to book him so to speak, for example, if a player swore at the ref in the warm up, he would automaticaly start with a yellow, same if it was at the end, as soon as the ref is gone, that's when there is no more bookings etc

Anyways, bring back capital punishment. Henry deserves it .

I know. It's the reason they seeded the playoff draw, which was completely unfair.
Talking about bigger clubs cheating, I'm a St Mirren fan. We've been cheated in all of our past six games against Celtic. Of course nothing is done. However, I found it hilarious seeing the Celtic fans seething when Eduardo dived against them, especially when McGeady did the same a few days later.
Thing is, bigger teams always get it their way - they run the thing basically.

Aha Flumps! I'm just too good

Have a look at this, online petition to get the game replayed...lol
http://www.petitiononline.com/97987633/petition.html
Apparently FIFA have had close to 100,000 complaints from football fans all around the world sent to them demanding some sort of action is taken, will be fascinating to hear from them and the French FA over the next couple of days. Still can't see the match being replayed, but one can only live in hope...

does that mean that Ireland can still get to the cup - even after we have typed up who is in it?
