Money that Celtic just don't have. Izaguirre was a find for 650k and you'll need £1M plus to get a replacement. We managed to win the league without £4M Jelavic for a long spell tho so lets see what Neil Lennon can do as a manager reshaping team instead of just buy buy buy!

I'm sure Celtic have many players in their youth squad that would be able to come in and do a good job.

Just look across the city at the amount of youth players who have made an impact at Rangers

1-0, not a good win but 3 points in the bag.

Since when was an away win not a good win?

If spurs don't win by at least 4 on aggregate I will be very surprised, however, Tynecastle is intimidating for visiting teams so lets hope they can spring a surprise and show the EPL that Scottish football is about more than the Old Firm.

You're quite right, I see very little diffence between Hearts and a very poor Old Firm at this moment. If it was Celtic or Rangers in this game it would be built up to the hilt, but it won't be and it's exactly the same fixture and quality of teams.

They need to get in their faces, close everything down rapid and be very physical. If that means pick up some bookings then so be it.

Hearts have the team to do it i'd say. But another few signings wouldn't go a miss.

Ego, I was meaning it as a..' Not a outstanding performance to win' way. Not complaining that it wasn't a good away win, but it was a last 15 minute goal to save the day as it was a tough match throughout.

As I certainly wouldn't class a 1-0 victory against Aberdeen, a good win. Some say it was lucky, also when comparing the last matches of celtic v aberdeen the results have stood out like a sore thumb.

Ive got to laugh at ego for saying hearts are the same quality as the old firm. come on mate yes they are a good team and probably the 3rd best team in scotland but same quality as old firm? No. The league didnt lie last season and it wont lie this season either.

Also well done celtic for the 3 points, scraped victory but we never really went out of 2nd gear, and did you see the amount of shots we had outside the box? far too many in my opinion when there were willing runners begging for the ball to be slid through. Commons had a bad game, everyone else was average whilst kelvin wilson looked good.

Wish izaguuire all the best in his recovery and not sure if we need to buy a left back, time will tell but our main priority is a goalkeeper and a striker.

a STRIKER is our top priority and has been for a few seasons , we need a consistent goalscorer , 25 shots at goal and only 1 goal to show for it

NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Aberdeen certainly never lied down to Celtic today, they are a much better team than last season and put up a good match. Celtic played alright just no end product, then Stokesy boy comes with the goal!

to a certain extent i agree with you but if we had a top , top striker , while playing not particularly great we would and should have scored at least 3

There is obviously a difference. But obviously over two games like they will play against Tottenham? Not that much of a difference. When Hearts are on form and playing against the Old Firm, they are more than a match for them. The only difference I can see is Celtic and Rangers can pull out a result when playing poorly and Hearts struggle at that.

I don't see any difference in Hearts playing Tottenham than Celtic or Rangers.

Egotistical i'm sorry but in my opinion Hearts have shown to be on average approx 20 points adrift of the Old Firm season on season, and whilst in a one off match they can be competitive against the OF when both teams are playing well i've still seen Rangers and Celtic win in a stroll.

Hearts are probably the 3rd best team in Scotland but when the OF have played against EPL teams other than Man Utd they are very close to winning over two legs on more occasions than not. I can't see hearts being anywhere close.

Only my opinion but that's what it is all about at the end of the day.

Hope hearts give them a fight at least. Show them that the SPL isn't just the old firm.

Hearts won't beat Tottenham i don't think, a no goal draw seems likely though.

As for the Riots in London, my family are concerned about it all since they stay in North London. Hope they are ok.

Good to see Scotland 2-1 against the Danes. Snodgrass' goal was perfection, would love to see Scotland play more football like they way they have tonight.

Bad week for the SPL injury wise.

Izaguirre and Severin break their legs, St Mirren's Darren McGregor (key player) has done in his cruciate ligaments, and yesterday Steven Saunders of Motherwell snapped his achilles in a Scotland U21 friendly. I was at the game, less than 5 minutes gone, no one near him and he goes down in agony.

Along with Papac, best of luck to all of them on their recovery. Gutted about McGregor's injury, we need him.
