Depressed. Spurs just on totally different level just so much better and given too much space could have been 10-0(which i was expecting after half hour).

Just goes to show the differnce in class and watching the Old Firm struggle against mediocre opposition is a wake up call that we just dont cut it anymore in Europe and teams like Sion and Maribor are on the same level as us.

You know for a fact that Celtic and Rangers can spend much, much, much more money on players than anyone else in the SPL. The fact that your mob, with Robbie Keane at the time, a guy who probably earned more in a week than the entire St Mirren team put together, got ripped apart by a team who is tiny compared to yourselves. 4-0. Robbie Keane couldn't even score against a defence containing Lee Mair and John Potter.

It would be like St Mirren getting trounced 4-0 off East Stirling, comparing the money each team has.

I've heard a few stories in the media about Sion and some transfer ban. Anyone know the ins and outs of that story and what could happen regarding their participation in Eurpoa League?

Apparently they've fielded an ineligible player.

Why the hell they did that, I will never know.

Basically they had a transfer embargo imposed on them because of dealings they had with a goalkeeper who played for al ahly, something illegal went on i think so fifa banned them from signing any players for two transfer windows ending in January. But they ignored that and signed 5 players.

Sice that they have succesfully challenged that in the civil courts which the Swiss legal system ruled that the 5 players could play in their domestic league game. Fifa though does not agree with football disputes being settled in courts.

So they have warned Sion that if any of the banned players play then they risk being booted out of Europe.
