I hope not. The Old Firm have turned this league into a boring two team race. Sadly, everyone is on their side, the SFA, referees, whatever. But still...St Mirren 1-0 Rangers! A game I'll remember for a long time

St Mirren are such a confusing team. We went four games without scoring before scoring away to Rangers (lost 2-1) and home to Celtic (lost 3-1).

Funnily enough, Celtic had a referee to thank (yet again). Just 25 minutes in, their overrated keeper Artur Boruc scythed down Craig Dargo outside the box. If Dargo had gone past he would have scored. Boruc made no attempt to play the ball, just a violent challenge into Dargo. Should have been a definite red card for Violent Conduct/Goalscoring Opportunity/No Attempt To Play For The Ball. Take your pick.

Celtic would have no chance of winning the league without their refs. Total disgrace.

that comment is a disgrace mate!!!

if celtic had lost a man maybe st mirren would have actually committed players forward and the game would have been far easier

st mirren for relegation this season.

celtic will win the league at a canter

sounds alot like sour grapes to me

Oh come on, look at the facts.

Celtic have had many decisions their way this season. Started off at Parkhead through a red card and penalty - wrong decision. Next week, opposing team denied stonewall penalty. Next week - scoring through a handball. Not long after - another handball. Last week - a penalty for a tackle outside the box. And yesterday, Boruc staying on for taking out Dargo.

Now come on, teams don't get that many in a season, never mind under half a season. Celtic have been handed at LEAST 5 points from refs this season, and probably more.

St Mirren actually did commit men forward. We created a few chances, including converting one of them. I noticed Celtic putting 10 men in the box for defending corners, bit odd when your playing a team with one of the worst scoring records in Britain.

And we wont go down easily. We are a good side, we have just been on a bad run.

Celtic - Biggest cheats in Scotland. No denial.

how can you say celtic are cheats?

we dont have the authority to give penalties or send players off?

i agree they have had some fortuituos decisions in our favour, but for you to say that celtic would have no chance of winning the league without the "help" of referees is a joke!

celtic are the biggest and best club in scotland because they are talented and have very good footballers!

st mirren did not attack celtic in the slightest! the only chances they created before there goal came from set pieces!

whose to say celtic would have not won had boruc not been sent off?

whose to say we would not have won last week if it was a freekick and not the penalty, same with the handball?

your team might have been unfortunate but live with it decisions happen!

as phil scolari says the ref is the boss! if he says penalty its a penalty if he says offside its offside!!

Don't you find it funny though how Celtic have had it all their way, while the other 11 SPL teams are having to put up with playing 14 men most of the time?

I'd be prepared to bet without the refs, you wouldn't be top.

First off, at Parkhead - without the red card + pen, I think Saints would have held on for the 0-0, because our defence were superb that day. (+2 pts for Celtic)
Next week, Dundee Utd denied a stonewaller. Now, I'm not saying they would definitely have scored it, but if they did, Celtic would have lost. (+1 pt)
Week after, I know you won 3-0, but the handball was right before HT and knocked the stuffing from Falkirk. I can only say I think you'd have won anyway.
Last week - Celtic were struggling until the "penalty". Accies could have held on for a win/draw without that. (+1/+3 pts)
Had Boruc been sent off, Saints may have won or taken a point. We could have threatened more as it was an early incident. I rekon we could have drawn. (+1/+3)

Thats about 5-9 points gifted to Celtic. Which would have you below Rangers.

As for us not attacking apart from set pieces, the Boruc vs Dargo incident was NOT a set piece, and I'm sure (as bad as he is) Craig would have slotted that home. And the goal wasn't from a set piece either.

As for this:

Scott McDonald - Dives all the time.
Scott Brown - Constantly fouls.
Nakamura - Diver.
Gary Caldwell - His handball goal.
Stephen McManus - Same as Caldwell.
Artur Boruc - What he did to deny Dargo.
Venegoor Of Hesselink - In that first game, he pulled on Haining's shirt, hit a lame shot, fell over. got the pen + Haining's red card.

I'm going to make a guess thats quite a lot of cheating.

so basically you are making your judgement on reckonings?

you cannot predict what would have happened in any of those above games!

Are you just going to deflect that your team have had lots of help and that they are the biggest cheats in Scotland?

After seeing the Boruc incident on replay, while it wasn't a clear goalscoring opportunity, it was certainly worthy of a red card. Boruc had his studs aimed at Dargo's leg, no intent to go for the ball. He could have caused serious injury, and had Mark Howard done that - he'd have been off.

i have never once tried to protect borucs tackle. it wasnt a clear goalscoring challenge but it was violent conduct!

that does not make him a cheat!

you trying to tell me you would have just let the player go past you?

think about it mate this game is all about money and success you do anyhtin in your power to try to score and try to prevent goals happenin.
the rest is up to the officials

cant wait for st mirren to get relegated! no place in the SPL for teams that dont try to play football!

you have not done anything all season and its either st mirren or hamilton for relegation!

i hope hamilton stay up because the play the more inventive football

st mirren have zero entertainment value and hopefully an attacking first division team takes their place in scotlands top flight!

they were very lucky to get the 3 points against rangers in a game where they created next to nothing for the full game!

enjoy being mid-table in the first division next season because you are not even good enough to win that league!!!!

you trying to tell me you would have just let the player go past you?
----------------

You trying to tell me you'd have taken him out, no intent to get the ball, and nearly break his leg/ankle?

-------------------------------
you have not done anything all season
----------------------------------

Funny how we are the only side to have defeated one of the Old Firm this season, obviously taking out the OF derby.

--------------

And as for your relegation comments, we are a good side, we just haven't taken opportunites this season. After next weeks game (against Dundee United), expect us to start taking points again. Our last run have been all the top sides (Celtic, Gers, Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen, United), and we were unlucky in quite a few of them.

And Hamilton playing attacking/inventive football? On Saturday they started timewasting in the first half! How is that inventive or entertaining? They are awful up front as well, just like Saints. Accies can barely convert their chances. Saints may have finally found a good partnership in Wyness and Dargo, and along with Mehmet, we may start scoring more.

We are a good enough side to compete in the SPL.

I can agree ALL teams are a little dirty at times, unfortunate enough that it's part of football these days.
Though Celtic have got away with some blinders such as diving.

Anyway 7 points clear!

So what you are trying to say is all other 11 SPL clubs will score two handballs, receive a few dodgy penalties, have opposing players wrongfully sent off with their appeals wrongfully rejected, and all send out their keeper to hack the striker and not get sent off?

Quite a lot to be evened up, ya'know...

Anyway, 2 pts behind, 1st Division here we come....
